Horrific images coming in from tv3 from new Zealand. 65 people killed, expected to rise, rescues under the way for 200+ people still trapped in CBD buildings. 80% of the city without power.

Such a sad day for such a beautiful historic city.

The window smashed in less than two seconds after I jumped under desk, a huge pile of dust came in. I am very very very lucky, and truly love god (or whoever else is up there). This felt alot stronger than the 7.1 quake, it certainly did more damage and (at least) 65 people dead.... words just cant imagine.

This Is Terrible, I was at work during the time out in Riccarton/Annex Road Area, and It started...me and some work mates hid under the table, where the roof partially collapsed on us, We managed to crawl out and down the stairs too outside.

From there, I left home, and it took me 5+ hours to get up to Kaiapoi/Woodend,

http://www.news.com.au/world/christchurch-cathedral-before-and-after/story-e6frfl00-1226010081646

Churches, Masonic Buildings are irreplacable, iconic for what christchurch is known for,

I have seen several bodies being pulled out from a pharmacy, truly terrible.

Not exactly,

It's liquification, and has to do with the geology of what christchurch sits on.

It really is, Alot of the masonic buildings which were ratified by the Earthquake Commissioned and deemed "safe" have come down in absolute ruins.

I have a friend underneath rubble in Cashel Strete, but have not heard anything since 1am our time, Im praying she has been found.

To avoid any confusion to other posters, I think you meant to quote my other post regarding 15 people being alive in a pocket. Yes it appears that was a false report, what an absolute tragedy.

Do you know if they are still pulling people out of PGG, Cathedral and Cashel Street?

Yep, Rescuers are working at PGG Building, staff around Cathedral as well, but mainly at PGG.

Honestly, Im just making a speculation here, so don't quote, but it would be lucky to fine anyone alive in the cathedral, ironic for a place of worship. Hoping for the best.
