Next time, I'd like to see her arriving in a pregnant elephant or rhino costume and she can make her grand appearance by being 'born out' of the costume. It has enough 'WTF?' value.

Gaga was outrageous but I liked it. Her performance however was just very lacklustre, you just can't do much with a crap song like Born This Way.

The reality is - she is very insecure about herself and doesn't think too highly about herself as an artist. She thinks if she just goes out there like everybody no one will notice her and so she tries too hard by resorting to such gimmicks to draw attention to herself. Too bad because she is taleneted and doesn't need any of this to stay relevant. A confident and secure Lady Gaga would be the best thing that could happen to the pop music scene but as can be seen with BTW she has regressed.

Like all attention whores she has issues, there's absolutely no doubt about that. Having said that, I think she's doing it primarly because she enjoys being a performer, and not because she's insecure about her own talent.

The danger for her is that people (including her little monsters) will get bored and annoyed at some point. Is it going to be next year or in 4 years, I don't know, but it's inevitable it's gonna happen. We'll see then if she's really as wise and talented as some people claim she is, and what she will do to reinvent herself.

I don't get why some people are still so heated about what she wears/what she does. Who gives a shit. If you haven't seriously gotten by now this is all part of her performence, there's no hope for you. Everything she does/wears seems really fun. From a performers standpoint, who wouldn't want to do some of the stuff she does. If you don't like it, we get it. But the more you relentlessly try to tear her to shreds shows more about your insecurities than hers.

I wanna know what she was thinking when she said she thought of Whitney when writing Born This Way :weirdo:

Even a fully cracked out Whitney, with Bobby Brown fingering the shit out of her arse wouldn't touch that abomination of a song!

I actually think Born This Way as a musical composition is fine (Madonna plagiarism notwithstanding), it's mostly the lyrics that are an embarrassment. I always assumed she was dumbing herself down for songs like Poker Face and Bad Romance, but she comes across even more asinine when she tries to pull off the whole serious artist thing.

It has nothing to do with our insecurity. It's just sometimes annoying to see someone is so desperate for attention. She loves to steal the spotlight, I get it but I'd say not every move of hers turned out right. A lot of them looks ridiculous and says she tried too hard to be unique (this egg and a meat lover outfit, for example).

She thinks about the $$$$ and threads like these help her get the attention she wants. It's her meticulously crafted attention-whoring that allowed her to get to the position she's at now and imo her greatest "contribution" to pop music.

I actually think Born This Way as a musical composition is fine (Madonna plagiarism notwithstanding), it's mostly the lyrics that are an embarrassment.I agree; the beat is actually decent but she cannot be given any credit whatsoever when she snatched so many melodic lines. It's sad that she had to resort to blatant theft to drive the song.

Lyrics never really mattered that much in pop music, but even so her choice of lines ("born this way", "be a queen and not a drag") while not artistically poetic or anything, is smart - the song was simply meant to be a gay cultural event (she even said that this will be the theme of gay pride events), and pop cultural phenomena are not usually achieved with poetic brilliance(again, think of Respect, Imagine, I Will Survive..etc). What you need are a few lines that people will easily relate to, and the hard part of course - coming up with the irresistible melodies to drive them.

Apparently Madonna and her people e-mail Lady Gaga and wished her well on the single and congratulations, as Gaga said "If the Queen says it shall be, it shall be."....and this justifies her blatant copy of Express Yourself and Waterfalls how? Just because the queen decides to be the bigger person by not suing doesn't mean anything. I saw her egg on Jay Leno avoiding the question about Express Yourself rip off. She didn't admit or deny it all she said was Madona was ok with it.

Lol why do you care so much? How does it affect you in your life in any way shape or form? Oh that's right it doesn't. Keep complaining, she'll be the one over there selling records, singing and making 100 million this year while you are just there complaining over and over again. :wavey:

Gaga is an attention whore of the worst kind. Every moment she must attempt to cause some fabricated controversy by attempting to do something eccentric and it comes off as contrived. She then wants to act like her music is deep and profound when her lyrics are mediocre at best. What bothers me about Gaga is not so much what she does for attention but how she's trying to force people to believe that her music is more than just pop fluff.
