Wow. Fox Sports' broadcast of Super Bowl XLV averaged 111 million viewers and is the most-watched television program in U.S. history.

USA TODAY's Gary Levin reports: The game beat the previous record of 106.5 million, set during last year's Super Bowl, which shattered the 27-year record held by the series finale of M*A*S*H (106 million), which held the viewership record from 1983 to 2010.

This marks the sixth straight year that Super Bowl viewership has increased, from 86.1 million in 2005 to 111.0 million, a gain of nearly 25 million viewers.

oh I thought I posted this in non-tennis, sry! You could probably add up every U.S Open since the 70's and still not reach this number. It's amazing to me how the NFL destroys everything in ratings, attendance, value etc.. No surprise the NFL is the richest sports league in the world really, I mean 4 million dollar fee for a 30 second commercial Lol!

This year was a let down. Much better game last year. But, I like my Saints and they were a great story last year

111 million viewers and without a sighting of Beyonce? My word. :tape:

Maybe Xtina had it right after all, there's no such thing as bad publicity. :wavey:

Didn't watch but heard that Fergie and B.E.P. sucked. No surprise. As for Cristina getting the words wrong on the Star-Spangled Banner, well, she isn't the first. Also, people criticized Whitney Houston for prerecording it and lipsyncing, but would they rather people get the words wrong? I didn't hear her sing, but I can feel some sympathy for her for switching up that line in the song.

Many, many people probably didn't even notice that Xtina fucked it up.

If that were true, there would have been no need for this.....

That Chrysler Eminem commercial was about 2 minutes. So there goes $16 mil?

We had 10 people in the room and when it happened everyone's head turned to look at someone else. We were also timing the anthem because the over/under was 1:54 (I clocked 1:53 ) She dragged out the end to coincide with the military flyover. :p

Though this was lip-synched, this was the best rendition ever and still gives me chills:

   A lot of us like Green Bay and were happy to seem them win. Besides most of the ads weren't good this year  Joan and Roseanne were funny though.

 literally everyone at the party I was at noticed right away and cringed a bit.
