Apparently Cee Lo Green as been offered a job, but not decided if he will accept the offer or not yet:

"I had a meeting with Simon the other day and I was just offered a job. I didn’t say no but I didn’t say yes either.
I did mention to him that I am not a judge. I don’t feel fit to judge people, but I can make observations."

And apparently Cheryl Cole hasn't because of her accent

But shouldn't believe anything until it's confirmed :p

I doubt it's Cee Lo. He's joining an NBC singing show with Adam Levine

http://insidetv.ew.com/2011/02/28/cee-lo-green-levin-nbc/

I read Fox Producers are afraid some Americans might not understand Cheryl's accent, but I love her on British X Factor. Nicole is also a favorite of Simon's, and she's not bad.

And of course Paula is in the mix with Simon.

Oh didn't know Cee Lo is going to do that show, then he probably won't do X Factor.

As for Cheryl, I have no idea what's going to happen

And of course Paula, Nicole could get chosen because Simon likes them but the ultimate decision is down to fox.

duhcity
Mar 1st, 2011, 04:42 PM
If Simon really wants Paula and Nicole, he'll get them. Cheryl is different, as she's completely foreign and let's face it, completely unknown in the states. As long as it's not Danii ;)

I really think Paula/Nicole/Cheryl will be at least one if not two of the female judges. Too much discussion around them. Might come down to $$$ for Paula though.

Then again, Simon could go and pull Xtina (who's in talks for The Voice with Cee Lo up there). She very clearly wants a bit of a career boost, and idol is doing wonders for J.Lo. Plus she was on X Factor UK last season.

The only real mystery is that last male judge. Who the hell would it be?

Yeah it's just singing and performing ;) whereas AGT is all kinds of stuff.

It's different from Idol because the contestants get split up into 4 groups: Girls, Boys, Over 28s and Groups (might end up being slightly different because of the age limit though) . Each judge/'mentor' gets one of these categories and basically they have to deal with song choices, helping them and everything.

Antonio "L.A." Reid (born June 7, 1956) is a three-time Grammy Award-winning American[1] record executive, songwriter, and record producer. Best known as the co-founder of LaFace Records, he is responsible for signing and helping bring Mariah Carey, P!nk, Justin Bieber, Rihanna, Kanye West, Avril Lavigne, Toni Braxton, TLC, Usher, Ciara, OutKast, and Dido to multi-platinum album sales.

Simon Cowell is still selecting two judges to accompany him and Antonio "L.A." Reid on X Factor, but regardless of who he chooses, he wants them to stir the pot on the show. "There should be tension to a point," Cowell tells PEOPLE about his ideal dynamic among the judges. "I liked the Idol panel when we first started. We had different opinions, and I think it's important you have different opinions."

"In life and in music, we all disagree on a lot of different things," Cowell, 51, continues. "The important thing is you've got to feel comfortable about disagreeing with each other."

While Cowell can't speak of the currently unnamed remaining judges – who could reportedly be Paula Abdul or Jessica Simpson – he's already assessing the dynamic between himself and Reid, who was just announced as joining Fox's fall show.

"I've seen the nice side of him and the not-so-nice side," Cowell explains of his co-judge, 54. "He's not someone you want to get on the wrong side of … [but] in life and in music, we all disagree on a lot of different things. I'm not sure that L.A. and me agree on everything, but we're comfortable about that."

Although they occasionally don't see eye to eye on things, Cowell sings Reid's praises.

"I like him, I have a lot of respect for him, and he's great fun," Cowell says, noting that Reid was the only person he had in mind for the gig. "He's really got a great sense of humor. He's going in to do what he does for a living. He makes people stars."

They should just bring in new American judges. I mean apart from Simon.

Also the person that commented on Nicki Minaj not being a legend of sorts, the UK judges had Cheryl Cole and Danii Monigue, the Australian version had Natalie Imbruglia, Brian Macfadden and Guy Sebastian. None of these people are musical legends, but they have all worked.

Simon hasn't quit the UK X-Factor. He will not be on the show on weekly basis but he will still be on the show as he is being flown back and forth for both UK and US X-Factor.

Louis ;)

Even though they may not be the most credible singers, all of them have came from a music background - Cheryl from her band, and Louis manages bands etc. They aren't complete nobodies to the music business

Yeah this show is not just about singing (well that is the main thing), it's about stage production and things like that as well.

There have been some contestants in the last few seasons of UK X Factor that weren't great at singing :tape: - and just got picked because the judges thought they had 'star quality', would appeal to people and whatnot. Which is why some people are losing interest in the show in the UK.

In the past, it wasn't so much about the stage production, but now that is a big factor.

I just think it's stupid when they're dropped after one album, and it's pretty ridiculous because none of their sales were poor! I mean McElderry sold 60,000+ albums. If it doesn't get a certification at all, that's when it's poor. They didn't try to change direction or give them any artistic creativity - just dropped! Pretty pathetic and shows that the X Factor is only about $$$. Not that they haven't found some great acts along the way - mostly by accident though!

And what are you basing that McElderry lost his fanbase on? His album sales were pretty much in-line with the other X-Factor males like Leon and Steve (esp. when you take into account the general decline in music sales over the past 5 years). Additionally, not everyone who buys music spends hours scouring the internet or reads the tabloids cover to cover, so there's no reason to believe that most people are even aware he's gay. I think it's quite reckless speculation to suggest his coming out may have cost him his fan base particularly when his album actually did sell quite well "despite" his coming out.

Cheryl is out, Nicole is in.
The first two contestants promo'd weren't too impressive, and the one that was in the commercial last night during the Emmy's was the best so far.

But even then, I'm not blown away. But reviews from a screening of the first EP have been pretty good. Very glitzy, very Simon.

I wonder if former idols will support Simon here. It's got more of the old Idol than what Idol currently has.

I think X Factor needs to make some serious changes. I was really excited for it, but it's been underwhelming. Why spend 45 minutes bitching about how Miami is terrible, and then show 4 or 5 straight good auditions without explanations?

i think they are both good for different reasons. The 13 yo is good in a bubbly teen way and the 14 yo has a maturity to her voice that is unusual.

I like that they took the solo artist that they really liked and put them in the group category instead of keeping crappy groups... should make for some good drama. :yeah:

Stacy still gives me chills, she HAS had her moment of fame back in the day though. She was in a group called Ex-Girlfriend. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yWIyQQOW3aY I think they even made top 5 on the billboard with 1 or 2 songs. I do believe in second chances..so good luck to her.
I believe Stacey would be on liveshows unless there's politics behind it.

actually i don't need Melanie and Rachel at the same time too :o give me Catlin or Drew would be great :o if it's right, Simon choose almost the same kind of singer
I like Tora, Cathlin, Drew and Melanie for liveshows.:cheer:

Rachel or Melanie should be only 1 can alive....but they are almost the same league of singer Power Ballad(beyonce)

Tora or Simone should the same league too...(Entertaining (beyonce/Lady Gaga)

if simon really choosing these 4 i can only see 2 making further...

I love Caitlin and Drew for the girls. I wonder if there's room for both of them in liveshows.:( Drew is guaranteed a spot with her popularity on the web. Caitlin is still average with her popularity but she's not that bad compared to Drew. The only thing she lacks compared to Drew is her voice tone/uniqueness.

LOVE Drew and Simone.

Who I want to get through?

GIRLS: Drew, Simone, Jazzlyn, Rachel
BOYS: Chris, Marcus, Phillip, Brian (pretty sure those are LA's top4 guys)
OVERS: Stacy, Christa, Josh, Leroy (also pretty sure those are top4)
GROUPS: The Stereo Hogzz, Lakota Rayne. The rest I don't like or don't remember.

I can't stand Tiah, don't like Melanie but I think she's not going through anyway.

The girls category is seriously impossible. The only one I'm sure I don't want to go through is Jazzlyn. The other 7 are literally a tossup.

Groups - hard to remember exactly which did what tbh, but the ones I think I like best are 2squar'd, 4Shore, InTENsity & The Stereo Hogzz.

Over 30's - Christa, Elaine, Josh & Stacy would be my top 4. Dexter is too unoriginal, LeRoy is too indie, Tiger I just don't see as marketable in any way, and James is just a lesser Josh - or maybe that's a bad comparison but for some reason his performance didn't stick in my mind at all.

Guys - Chris Rene and Marcus Canty, 100% yes. I have a soft spot for the little rapper Bryan LOL, but I doubt he'll make it. Definitely no to Brennin and Tim. Tossup for the rest.

Girls - Bummed for Caitlin and Tora, but ultimately happy with the choices. I'm so team Tiah/Simone :sobbing: Out of the two under 15's, I like Drew a bit more than Rachel. They're both talented and charming, but I think I'd be more drawn to Drew as an artist. Melanie is obviously incredible and I'm really glad she got asked back.

Guys - Really happy with the choices tbh. :p I think all 4 of them are really talented, really looking forward to Chris & Marcus especially. The young 'Astro' kid is to high hell annoying on some level, but he's still got great potential. And you never see rap go far in a show like American Idol - I like how X-Factor is going there. I'm just glad we're not gonna get another flop country singer winning this kind of competition in the US.

Over 30's - Bummed for Christa the most, I would have liked to see her go through. I got the sense Enrique really liked her but Nicole just didn't feel it for some reason. Also felt a little bad for Elaine, she was insanely good vocally. The only top 4 choice I strongly disagreed with was Dexter, he's there for the drama, as Anthony said.

Groups - Surprised and kinda bummed 4Shore didn't make it, I really liked their vocal blend. I woulda put them in over the Brewer boys in a heartbeat. They're a cute little sibling tandem but come onnnnnn. =/ Overall the most boring category for me.

I think mostly the right people went through, but I just don't think it's that good a cast. I really only like Melanie, Marcus, and Leroy. I can't stand Dexter. InTENsity is horrifying, and Rachel and Astro are just so young. The last thing I wanted was for this to turn into another edition of America's Got Talent's all ages shitfest. We'll see how the first live show goes, but I'm not convinced. It's also crazy how heavily African American the cast is now!

BEYOND over Stacy, BTW. Her getting in over Elaine was the last straw. She's gotten such a ridiculously unfair edit, always getting the last spot and getting so much screen time, and I think her performances have gotten progressively worse.

Girls - Definitely the strongest category. So Simon has 5 girls then  tbh he should have put Melanie through in the first place, maybe over Tiah but he obviously likes her. I kind of liked Caitlin, wouldn't have minded if she made it through but happy with all the other choices.

Boys - Brian Bradley, even though I didn't really like him have to admit he does have potential, like WhatTheDeuce said. Marcus and Chris through :yeah: and I actually haven't watched Phillip's Judges house performance yet but will now.

Over's - Leroy and Josh both good choices. Stacy I'm okay with as well, and agree with some of you I'm not sure what I make of Dexter going through.

Groups - Not really been paying much attention to them so I can't really comment if the right ones went through or not

Wait so he almost didn't let Melanie through? But yet Tiah got through? Riiight. Vocally, I think her, Drew, and Marcus are the strongest contestants. I think Simone (sp?) has a good voice for pop music, but it is nothing special. I don't know what the hell Nicole was thinking with Dexter; he is not even good in a quirky way. Elaine should have gotten in over him. Hell, any of the other over 30s should have. Lakoda Rayne is awful too...

It should be interesting  .

I think every judges made one or two mistakes while chosing their top 4 :o Worse one was Nicole..Christa and/or Elaine should have passed WAY before Dexter at least! She was just too scared of his reactin to send him home I think lol. I really loved Christa and I think she was really unfair towards women there during the whole process of the series tbh.

I'm thinking Simon made that "oops I think I made a bad decision" just to keep tiah in so the other judges would be like you're right that was a stupid move let's invite Melanie again. Caithlin was very deserving of that spot over Rachel. Alright don't get me wrong, Rachel is VERY talented but 13 years old? C'mon she might sing songs very well but if she wins and release an album there's no way it's gonna be believable if she sings "adult" songs. SO I just think it was too early for her to be selected, that's why i think Caithlin would have great. How surprising is that Simon got the girls (clearly the best groups) AND that the show accepted to let him bring one more act!? lol

I agree I think Drew is amazing I can see the judges telling her that she's not "versatile" enough that she makes the songs all sounds pretty much alike. Personally I think it's great the way she makes songs on her own special style, but hey judges are there to complain most of the time. I remember they did that to Diana Vickers in the UK and she had a sound abit like Drew.

Can someone explain to me how next week actually works? :)

The top 17 will perform on Wednesday and on Thursday it's the results show. The public votes and whoever ends up in bottom 2 sings once again for his survival. Then the judges decide who is through to the next week and who is leaving. If it's tied then it goes to deadlock. (the act who had the fewest public votes leaves). :)

No way there's enough time to eliminate 15 contestants + Finale by the end of the year.

I'm thinking each mentor chooses one to leave next week, Simon chooses two. Whittles it down to 12. And there's likely going to have to be a double elimination at one point as well.
