Pavlyuchenkova is playing Fed Cup. Please take her off the list.

Petkorazzi, Lisicki, and Vinci are officially qualified now as there are only three International tournaments left. Two more spots will be determined tomorrow. The only possible players left are Cibulkova, if she wins, and Bartoli, if she wins Osaka and not Moscow, then whoever wins Luxembourg if they're ranked highly enough.

Things still uncertain : if Bartoli doesn't win Moscow, Aga goes to YEC, but Bartoli and Petkovic still alternate there, add with Lisicki being sick and all, that leaves 2 more spots open in Bali.

So Bartoli/Petković may or may not play. Otherwise unless Görges wins Luxembourg the field is set.

There is no way Bartoli will play here. Same goes for Petkovic. The appearance fee for being an Alternate at the Year End Champs is too enticing! I think its at least $100K

An YEC ALT can play Bali, in case she didn't give a match in YEC.
So, Bartoli and Petkovic as Top INTL winners have to decide if they will travel to Bali after YEC or not.

The ALT players in Istanbul can play in Bali even if they PLAYED in Istanbul as an ALT player, not a qualifier.

I still don't get why they award Wildcards to the event - it diminishes the players who have actually won a International event this year........and Peng isn't even a tour champion (although she did win 2010 Asian Games)

Really it should be the Top8 players who have won a International tournament - so Gadjosova and Martinez Sanchez should by rights be playing

Myabe one wildcard makes sense . But for like the defending champion or a local player. Having 1/4 of the players be (titleless wildcards definitely defeats the purpose .

The rule is in place well before the Tournament YEAR starts and unchanged for 3 years.

2 Wild Cards of 2011: 1st for Defending Champion, 2nd for Best Asia Player available/eligible for Bali, which is basically OK for the Tournament Organizer.
