That was such a nice and fun interview, you actually got to see some personality as opposed to the boring typical questions. I loved her little dig at Brad Gilbert.

They should make every player eat the vegimite after winning a match. It should be AO tradition.

what did Vera say?

Vegimite isn't so bad, the trick is to spread it thinly... well that's how i like it.

what did Vera say?

I dont remember exactly and I can't go back because I changed the channel..but she said something about Brad being afraid of the lizard. I think Chris said someone was gone, and Vera said maybe they are with Brad

The guys were talking about how Brad left the set because the animals were coming. They then asked her is she would mind a visit with them and she said "No i guess im braver than Brad" lol something along that line.

Vegimite:
A semi edible dark brown paste. Traditionally used by Australians to disgust foriegners. Highly effective on North Americans.
"Try this Chip, It's called vegemite. It tastes like nutella".

Band wagon? There is no Zvonareva band wagon. She's so under-rated on TF and in the Tennis community in general it's not funny. I personally have loved Vera since she destroyed Bartoli 6-3 6-0 at the 09' AO. It would be such a Cinderella story if she could take the title. Plagued by near career ending injuries and so tough losses, but she has great sportsmanship and she's so polite and funny it's difficult not to like her.

If you were Australian, you would be addicted to it! Shame on those americans for being too fussy to eat vegemite! :p

OMG Vegemite is Amazing!!! :lick: :lick: :lick: I love it on toast, or as a cheese and vegemite sandwich. However it is an acquired taste you have to grow up with it too fully appreciate its taste. Thats why American don't like it... there used to sweet, sicky spreads or that shit that is... Peanut butter *vomit*

Oh and btw it is very good for you, packed with Vitamins and folate and contains no fat and sugars.

Hope you enjoy it CrossCourt~Rally :wavey:

Btw $8.80 is such a rip off  I hope that includes postage... we pay only AU$3.00 for a jar that size.

I don't hate Vegemite as much as other Americans. I think it's because I grew up with soy sauce and miso and other brown fermented things.

I can't eat it much at all and to me it's just so awful. The only way I can eat it is if I spread it VERY lightly on toast or something.

Yeah Marmite sucks. Vegemite is :inlove: You have to grow up on it though otherwise I can pretty much guarantee you'll spit it out. When we fed some Dutch relatives a bit their reaction was priceless

^ Vera sat down for a talk with the ESPN crew and they had heard she didn't like Vegemite when she tried it before so she tried to eat it again. She was clearly disgusted, but was cute about it. They also brought out a weird animal for her to hold. I was praying it wouldn't bite her hand

So what does Vegemite taste like? I've heard beef bouillon? Looks and sounds gross - 'yeast ingredients'? http://clicksmilies.com/s1106/wuerg/vomit-smiley-019.gif

That was the cutest most fun thing Ive seen at the AO this year. She really seems to have a nice personality and the segment was so natural and not forced (cough Caroline). Really cool and fun segment.

SIDEBAR: Has anyone ever tasted Vegimite?? It sounds just god awful.
