It seems a select few players have learned to carry form from one tournament to the next.

Kvitova: Brisbane W, Australian Open QF
Petkorazzi: Brisbane F, Australian Open QF
NaNa: Sydney W, Australian Open QF

I agree, it's nice to see. Usually they just bomb out after good pre-Slam showings.

Not fair to Clijsters, don't see how a Sydney final is so different from a Brisbane final. Actually, it's better :(

This should be classified as a BOMBSHELL.

This is not only boring but irrelevant.

Having success in the first tournaments of the year before AO have no impact on the success of the WTA or any lasting impact on the players.

Smart players rest up right before slams anyway. It's like celebrating b/c the winner of New Haven makes the QF or the USO

still Greta Arn Auckland winner fell in 1st round
as well as BMS who actually played her debut match in AO lost to Rus

and Jarmila Groth the winner got defeated in the second round.

I think let's not give it a big deal, though, it's good to see the results.

That hasn't always been the case and I for one miss the times when you didn't actually expect Barbara Zahlavova-Strycova to beat Nuria Llagostera Vives in a tier I final only to see them both lose in the first round next week.

Wait.. when has Zahlavova-Strycova in a tier 1 final?

I think her point was the randomness of some results followed by slumps afterwards.
