How does she measure up to Graf/Navratilova/Evert in terms of GOAT?

She'll be on par with Vinas and Yoostine

Not going to happen.

Nowhere near Graf, Navratilova and Evert.

Of course Saint Kim/Fiona will then be considered the greatest of all time, greater than graf, seles, navratilova, evert, Serena, Venus and probably even greater than the great Jennifer Capriati.
No doubt about it.

Yes one cannot help but think that with such a thread title and question, the ONLY reason for this thread is to gather people for Kim bashing.... #pathetic

If Saint Kimberlé wins a Calendar Grand Slam this year...she'll have to have poisoned all the competition first.

She'd obviously be the best. Duh.
I mean, her personality is perhaps not as good as Caro, but at least she has one.

That's obviously why she'd rank the greatest.
Oh yeah, and she's a mum too.
Totally tennis related.

well duh, she'd obviously be the GOATest of them all then - a part time playing mommy, toying with all those hopeless headcases and winning anything she enters. Such domination would be never witnessed before.

If this does happen, she'll enter Seles/Conolly territory in terms of GOAT standings.

This slam is not even over yet & after seeing the match against Cornet Kim looks very shaky. This will not be as easy for Kim to win as people think it will be. The fact that she was lucky to be playing Cornet is not comforting. A calendar grand slam win is not in the cards for Kim.

For 2011 Calendar Grand Slam Kim Clijsters needs just two things:

1) if she stay injury-free during 2011 Australian Open, Roland Garros, Wimbledon and US Open weeks.
2) if Roland Garros (clay) and Wimbledon (grass) switch in 2011 to hardcourt surface.

Not that she lacks the talent, of course she could...but this should not be discussed until a player wins the first 2 at least, let's see if she can win Melbourne and Paris first.

If Fiona wins AO, FO & Wimbly Serena would come back even if she only had one arm, in order to prevent such an atrocity from happening :help:

Hang on, just re-read..
If Fiona wins AO, FO & Wimbly

Nvm, not happening.

She can come away from 2011 with AO(which is already a done deal) and USO since she's the HC GOAT, but I highly doubt she'll win RG, and Serena will crush her at Wimby.

Unless all four slams are being played on US Hardcourts this year...?

No if's.

Its not going to happen, she needs to win 2 majors in a year first, before she envisions winning three or the CYGS.

So to be eligible for the HC goat status it is now an entry requirement to receive a breadstick and a bagel from Russian head case Nadia, on that very same surface

At best she would be about on par with Monica Seles for around the #10 player all time.

She said she hates the clay... no players who hates clay will win a Roland Garros, especially if this player lost to LINDSAY DAVENPORT on clay... so she can win Melbourne and New York, only

She's a two times finalist in RG and Schiavone is the last winner. I don't think she'll ever win the French but if she does, it will not be a surprise. And the Davenport loss has nothing to do with it.

I like how people are saying her only chances are in Melbourne and New York. With Venus and Serena being big question mark at the moment, Wimbledon might be wide open this year.

Seriously shut up. Why don't you make a thread about Na winning a calendar slam at this point? Maybe if she wins the first three then you can bring this up but you're really going to do it before the first slam is even over? WHAT IF VENUS WILLIAMS WINS EVERY TOURNAMENT SHE ENTERS AFTER SHE COMES BACK FROM INJURY?

shoparound
Jan 28th, 2011, 10:07 AM
Difference is, that Kim is already 1/4 of the way there (to holding all slams at one time!) and possibly halfway there soon! She has some credibility of completing a Calendar Slam this year at the moment!

Na and Venus aren't there yet... Venus hasn't won a slam in more than a year, and Na, never... Not yet anyways.

<Sven>
Jan 28th, 2011, 01:53 PM
LOL! Way too early :)
Anyway, she doesn't need the Calender Grand Slam to be the all time GOAT! (For me of course, but I have totally different standards than the average tennis fan :p)
