Caro is probably one of the most tactical players on tour...you don't have to hit the ball with an enormous amount of power to win your matches, just goes to show that if your in the right mindset, and know why you are placing your shots in that position..your fine! Martina Hingis wasn't a big ball striker either, and din't hit a large amount of winners in all her matches, but extremely smart in the game!

BOMBSHELL!! The point of tennis is to win points, games, sets, and matches. Caroline is able to do so because players like Cibulkova make so many ridiculous errors.

If you're going to bitch so much about how she plays, don't watch her! I don't see Domi in your signature so choose a different match  I don't get why that's so hard for so many people on this board. Your 'pain' is self-inflicted.

Caroline isn't Hingis.
Wozniacki is #1 because the likes of Cibulkova miss these passing shots when it's 4-4 Deuce.
You don't have to go for the line, Caroline can't volley to save her life. :o

and as soon as you said that she played an awesome volley;)
she isn't number 1 by fluke, obviously she has been consistent enough to get the ranking that she has now.

Dominika had 15 winners in that first set :help:

and 21 errors....

Nicole Vaidisova could pick up her racket today, walk out there, bash every ball and manage to get 15 winners. It's dumb to evaluate performance only on winners.

Again, goes for the line when she has all the court open.

Domi is doing what Sharapova did in NY, what Ivanovic did in Beijing.
You have to try to end the point against Caro, but you have to not lose on your errors.

exactly Nicole was the kind of player who always had alot of winners, but heaps of unforced errors as well...because she expected that everytime she would hit a winner, little did she know it doesn't work like that every time..then lost her patience her belief and retired:sad::sad:

It's not, half of the errors are made because Caro just ruins Domi's attacks

She's just retrieving in every point. Even if she has a ball where she can easily go for the winner or move it around, she just hits it up and gets it in play. Then she clenches her fist.

Uhm, had Dominika made that passing shot and converted that BP in the 2-2 game, she would be cruising right now.

Players try to go for the winner at first strike but they don't have too.
Hit two, three deep shots and finish it at the net.

Caroline should know that's she is not going anywhere with this tennis, you won't win big titles playing so defensively.
And Maria was also hitting DFs on break points :spit:

Caroline is not playing well enough today to win this major.
I agree with that. That was a bad service game at 42. She needed to put this match away there. That's her biggest problem, her serve doesn't get her enough free points.

Well, she is moving pretty well after her first and second serve but yeah it mostly depend on the return of serve.

Her style is defense, but her serve has to be more offense than it was today.
Domi hits deep, its good practice for Caro.
