glad kim got the win with relative ease. these early rounds just want her to get through and be ready for the business end of the tournament.

CSN is a joke of a player. Camps 2-3 meters behind the baseline and fed Fiona short balls all match :zzz: I guess the organizers forgot to inform her that AO surface isn't clay. :o

Kim! Good job in the first set hitting crisp shots - very confident and aggressive shots with short rallies. CSN didn't have a chance to hit winners. Second set Kim's shots weren't as accurate and she was pulling the trigger too early going for too much. But she hit some good serves and made the adjustment, staying patient, and lengthening some of the rallies to give her more time to work her way into a winning position.

Surprised CSN even got 4 games. I thought she might get 2 or 3. She has never impressed me, just a good decent journeywomen player will be her career on the WTA likely. Cant believe Venus ever let a player like this beat her at the Australian Open. I dont even remember the match well, maybe she had an injury like last night.

Kim just lost it in the second set.. it's like she got bored and just stopped trying.

Carla has some great assets and talents. It's a shame she can't put it all together. Additionally, that second serve is a joke. If she could turn that backhand into a bigger weapon however.. it might get her higher in the rankings. She hit some impressive short angles today.. but the depth on most of her shots just was not there for most of the match and you can't win against a top 25 player that way.
