I'll try to keep it short...

I believe(and hope) that Venus has more slams in her, that she has a lot more deep runs.. however, when do we (as both fans and spectators) decide that she is no longer cream of the crop?

Additionally, Henin has not won a slam a slam since 2007.. and she's not racking up big titles anymore. I know she's only been back a year, but there are no signs like there were for Kim. Even her 2010 AO final was a scrap and claw affair.

Kim, Justine, Venus and Serena were deemed the big 4 not b/c they had the most talent.. but b/c of results. They were constantly winning slams, in finals, in semi's, and in non-slams wherever they contested they were the ones to beat.

But those results aren't there anymore... at least for the moment.

When do we decide that Venus and Henin aren't on the level of Kim and Serena anymore? or even close? When does it become Serena (+Kim) and everyone else?

Woooow you're late guy. Big 4 is just a myth it doesn't exist since 2005 anymore.

you do realise since the start of 2005, only sharapova, momo, sveta, ivanovic and fran have won slams in the 24 that have passed aside from the 'big 4'

I think we're down to a big 1 at the moment, with the 1 being Clijsters. And unless Caro steps up and starts winning slams, it will likely be a big 0 pretty soon :)

PS - Why doesn't Sharapova get to be one of the "bigs"? Until very recently she had won more major titles than Clijsters, and even now they're still tied.

There's no big 4 now, that's for sure. Vera was in the last 2 slam finals, & that's as many slam finals as Justine & Venus have been in over 2 years

I do but he said they were constantly winning slams, in finals, in semi's, and in non-slams wherever they contested they were the ones to beat which is not true since 2004 I would say.
Russians emerged for a while, Serena was winning OZ on her side, Henin the FO, Venus Wimbledon but they weren't the ones to beat in every tournament that's what I meant, they lost their consistency a long time ago, heck Venus played Henin once between 2003 and 2010 and Clijsters also played Serena once.

Not anymore, they are not peak at the same time, they don't dominate WTA like 2002,2003,2005,2007.

But they could still come out of nowhere and win a Grand Slam(all of them IMO), so they are.....underground big4 now:lol:
