I wouldn´t get too excited about that result. Kathrin is a solid player in challenger tournaments, but on wta tour level, she is overextended (Simular to Sandra Kloesel).
In this match, you could see clearly the difference of the level on which are Vika and Kathrin are playing. ;)

Just watched the match and Vika was hitting the ball so well:D especially with her backhand:cheer:

One of my favorite parts of the match was when Vika was up 6-0, 4-2 (or thereabout), hit a good shot and screamed 'come on.' Woerle started laughing at her. :bigcry:

Vika had to keep her energy up though. At the US Open last year she won the first set against Monica 6-0 and then allowed her play to dip and lost the second set.

Anyways.. still impressed by this. Keep this form up, Vika. :cool:

Azarenka actually looks like a solid player when playing people who can't dismiss her 2nd serve or do anything to her in rallies.

She got to take her time in rallies without feeling the urgency to finish points before her opponent won them and she worked on her volleys.

Rare luxuries, these early rounds are for Azarenka. It reminds me of her match against Garbin last year at the AO. She got such a wealth of time on the ball, that she could pretty much exhibit her full range of (limited) shot-making.

It's when she's forced to combat both pace and depth that she looks ungainly.
