Well, Mimi won 4 matches in a row, got match praxe and is confident again. Scoreline isn't that bad either ... and according to the OP it was high quality match :) I´ll take this loss positive :)

Congrats to Groth :yeah:

Good luck at AO Mimi

Groth will have some expectations on her this AO.
Interesting to see how she handles it.

It could have been much more easier for Jarmila. She made tons of UE's...

Sad that there had to be a loser :( But this is Jarmilas year and I am happy Tamira made it so close.

With the way Jarka's career is headed and her husbands career is headed, it wouldn't surprise me if he stopped playing by the end of this year and joined her on tour full time.

It's pretty obvious who the breadwinner in the relationship is. Sam made about $30,000 last year and she'll definitely make as much as that just in the month of January, if not far more.

I dont know about you guys, but dont you think that she has got a LOT more fitter and faster. I remember watching her in an AO match vs Serena a few years ago, and she couldnt run that fast. Now she seems so togheter with her game.

Even if its important, is it fair to reduce a marriage to money?

Didn't mean to reduce it to that at all. I'm just saying that when one spouse is top 40 and with the potential to go far higher than that, and the other spouse is a 23 year old who has never cracked the top 200, it's obvious whose career has the most potential. Jarka has said repeatedly that being away from her husband for so many weeks out of the year is difficult, so this would solve a lot of the issue.

I dont think Sam is ready to leave pro tennis yet. But i do think, if they´re still together, he may coach Jarka in the future, as he has been, and is, interested in her career (as the "discussion" they had last week). Besides, men usually play a lot more years than women.
