View Full Version : Aga Radwanska's foot is healed - she will play Melbourne

Yet on the beginning of December Agnieszka Radwańska walked on crutches. Today in Kraków she trains four hours a day and plays solid rallies with her younger sister Urszula.

When someone looks at her, he can't believe that she managed to heal her injury so fast. On the court she moves softly like a cat (however sometimes refuses to push back most difficult balls from her sister) and in one rally she can push 20 balls with no bigger effort.

"Her talent luckily didn't get injured" - laughs her father, observing the volleys and dropshots of Aga

On the trainings I do what I want, however an injury is still in my mind. Unfortunately, the fear won't dissapear in a few minutes. I'm afraid to stop suddenly or stamp my foot - claims Aga and starts to talk about a car which helped her during hard times.

I'm so happy I had automatic gearbox. I didn't have to push the glatch and thanks to that I performed my duties normally. I drove my car in order to go to doctors, rehabilitation, I bought some triples necessary to finish off my new appartament. I already did a house-warming party. By walking five weeks with crutches, I got a drubbing. A man who is not able to go to the shop just to buy some juice, looks differently at the world - laughs Aga.

Hope she isnt rushing it back. We've seen so many players do that and make it worse.

Lets hope this isn't anything like what Hingis did in 2002.

It's a Festivus miracle!
She should not rush back, but that's what athletes do. Dinara would have been better off taking off all of 2010.

Urszula Radwańska, Magda Linette oraz deblistki Klaudia Jans i Alicja Rosolska znalazły się w składzie tenisowej reprezentacji Polski na rozgrywki Fed Cup w Grupie I Strefy Euroafrykańskiej.

W drużynie, powołanej przez kapitana Tomasza Wiktorowskiego, zabrakło Agnieszki Radwańskiej, obecnie 14. tenisistki świata, która wciąż leczy kontuzję lewej stopy (uległa przeciążeniowemu złamaniu kości palca i w listopadzie przeszła operację) i nie wiadomo kiedy rozpocznie sezon.

Krakowianka w przyszłym tygodniu poleci do Melbourne, gdzie jej młodsza siostra Urszula wystartuje w eliminacjach do wielkoszlemowego Australian Open.

Musiała pauzować ponad sześć miesięcy i teraz odrabia straty.

Obecnie drugą Polką w klasyfikacji WTA Tour jest Magda Linette - 177. Natomiast wśród deblistek Rosolska jest numerem 47., a Jans - 49.

Rywalizację w Grupie I Strefy Euroafrykańskiej polska drużyna rozpocznie w dniach 31 stycznia - 6 lutego na twardych kortach w izraelskiej miejscowości Ejlat, obok ekip Austrii, Białorusi, Bułgarii, Chorwacji, Danii, Wielkiej Brytanii, Grecji, Węgier, Izraela, Łotwy, Luksemburga, Holandii, Rumunii i Szwajcarii.

W wyniku losowania drużyny zostaną podzielone na cztery grupy, których zwycięzcy zagrają w parach play off o miejsce w barażach o Grupę Światową II w 2012 roku.
