Good news, Alize defeated Olaru 6-2, 2-6, 6-2. She will play Oprandi in the QF's. Alize is 0-1 against her, losing last year to her in the finals of Saint Malo. Now would be a good time to avenge that loss!:)
Alizé season 2011jiffster Sep 14th, 2011, 06:04 PM Good news, Alize defeated Olaru 6-2, 2-6, 6-2. She will play Oprandi in the QF's. Alize is 0-1 against her, losing last year to her in the finals of Saint Malo. Now would be a good time to avenge that loss!:) Sombrerero loco Sep 14th, 2011, 06:14 PM not the best scoreline, but nice to see her reaching here the qfs.oprandi will be tougher opponent though Dorien. Sep 14th, 2011, 07:28 PM I'm really happy she could beat Olaru :) samresmo Sep 14th, 2011, 08:29 PM Nice win from Alize! Let's hope she s gonna find her game soon Sombrerero loco Sep 14th, 2011, 09:26 PM what time is she playing tomorrow? HowardH Sep 15th, 2011, 09:37 AM She is playing right now. You can watch here: http://www.sportmedia.tv/event.php?id=412 HowardH Sep 15th, 2011, 09:39 AM Alize's left thigh seems to have some strapping, but I don't notice much hindrance in her movement. Sombrerero loco Sep 15th, 2011, 10:03 AM scores please?i cant see the link... HowardH Sep 15th, 2011, 10:15 AM I did the scores in the livescore thread. You can see the progress there. She lost 5 and 0. Thigh injury no doubt didn't help against the dropshot prone Oprandi. But she was generally not playing well enough. Edit: I see it was actually a 3 set loss- I had no livescore and was only watching the livestream during the end of the second and then the third set, and I didn't quite realise a full set had been played before that. Sombrerero loco Sep 15th, 2011, 10:20 AM omfg  améliemomo Sep 15th, 2011, 03:04 PM she was up 7-6 3-0:help: well done for the choke but this has become an habit with her. As for the third set bagel, that's just prove how poor fighter she is in reality despite all the things she can say. She totally gave up and THIS is NOT the kind of thing that will get her back to a top50 level. As for her injury, well too bad but very weird cause it is not like she was plying a LOT of matchs. This is the proof of a lack of good physical condition. But well if you listen to her everything is ok, she can keep it up proudly! Dorien. Sep 15th, 2011, 06:17 PM Oooh Alizé  HowardH Sep 15th, 2011, 07:27 PM she was up 7-6 3-0:help: well done for the choke but this has become an habit with her. Ah, without a livescore (and just following on the livestream, catching it during the second set) I didn't realise it was a three set match. I guess the momentum really swung when she lost that lead in the second set. Sometimes these kinds of injuries are just a product of bad luck, in other cases it's poor training habits. Not sure which it is in this case, only Alize knows how much work she is putting in off court. Personally I have always thought that Alize trains very hard off court, in general. If you see her body, her abs etc it certainly looks that way. But with an injury like a thigh strain (which is probably what it is) she will need to take it easy for a couple of weeks I would think. Depends on how bad a strain it is. Fighting in the last set... well. Her energy goes up and down. When she has no mental energy left she can't play. To really fight well you have to be able to summon mental energy at any stage of a match, even if you are tired. Sombrerero loco Sep 15th, 2011, 10:08 PM omfg what a choke, similar to one against schiavone in ao a couple of years ago when leading 60 54 ended 60 57 06 :spit: jiffster Sep 15th, 2011, 11:02 PM I didn't see the match, but I can imagine how it went by the score line. At this moment in her career she can go from playing decent and dictating play, to frustrated, yelling and mentally checking out in just a few points. I'm going to guess that her "injury" today was really her head not her thigh. She has a lot of points to defend next week, and it seems unlikely that she will. Philchaz63 Sep 17th, 2011, 07:58 AM Alizé withdraws from St Malo and Linz, and is stopped for 1 month till Moscow (strange choice for a return, since she will need points to be in OA main draw : why not a 50 000 k ?). Her hamstring is torn... jiffster Sep 17th, 2011, 05:04 PM Guess I was wrong...If her hamstring is really torn, she may be done for the year. Sombrerero loco Sep 17th, 2011, 11:16 PM its getting worse and worse every day  HowardH Sep 19th, 2011, 11:35 AM Guess I was wrong...If her hamstring is really torn, she may be done for the year. Depends on the grade of the injury. My guess is that it is no more than grade 2 (slight tear) or even 1 (strained), since she was able to continue playing. Estimated recovery time should be 4-6 weeks for a grade 2 injury. Maybe 3 weeks if it's only grade 1. But she will require continued rehab beyond this point to prevent reinjury. So... she may be able to play competitively by Moscow. But it might be pushing it. Sombrerero loco Sep 19th, 2011, 11:56 AM she will be out of top 100 next monday? améliemomo Sep 19th, 2011, 12:12 PM she will be out of top 100 next monday? yes and that's probably why she'll play Moscow to maintain a top100 ranking to be able to play slams, especially in AO where she has a 3rd round points to defend:help::tape: Sombrerero loco Sep 19th, 2011, 08:59 PM wow...i wonder when she will be back to top 100, specially defending 30 points i think from hobart/auckland and 160 later at the AO...=( Alizé Molik Sep 23rd, 2011, 02:39 AM I think she needs to drop out of the top 100 and be forced to play the lower level tournaments. améliemomo Sep 23rd, 2011, 01:48 PM I think she needs to drop out of the top 100 and be forced to play the lower level tournaments. if her ranking drops out of top100 she will be forced to play many more itf even if she doesnt like it. And with the way she's actually playing, that's not worthy of a top100 player. Many up and comers are climbing the ranking, the tour wont wait for her to finally play good. If she doesnt do major work she'll fall far down and will be forgotten. Oh and another info, according to her, she'll be back in 2 weeks and not 4 from her injury. Desperatly needs to gain points or :wavey: top100 Sombrerero loco Sep 23rd, 2011, 02:18 PM yeah because she wants to be into the AO MD as she defends 160 points there... HowardH Oct 15th, 2011, 06:18 PM She won her first round of qualifying, 2 and 4. However, she only got 44% of first serves in and only won 52% when she landed the first serve. Luckily for her, she won a lot of points on her second serve. Sombrerero loco Oct 15th, 2011, 07:00 PM easy victory, please win tomorrow too alize Renaud Oct 15th, 2011, 07:41 PM very bad game (and 1 serv. too), very poor physical condition She's play in junior tennis (or Badminton) :banghead: and coach :silly: http://s54.radikal.ru/i144/1110/73/eaed82355b63.jpg Sombrerero loco Oct 15th, 2011, 08:25 PM wow she looks so cute :hearts: Dorien. Sombrerero loco Oct 18th, 2011, 11:51 AM sveta breaks again, 6-3 T_T allez alize HowardH Oct 18th, 2011, 11:53 AM I'm in the livescore thread. Come join me? Sombrerero loco Oct 18th, 2011, 11:54 AM maybe we should post here, as nobody does lately and maybe the subforum will not exist soon HowardH Oct 18th, 2011, 11:57 AM Hmm, I don't think subforums disappear so quickly. There are quite a few subforums without all that much activity. Alize's subforum gets posts every week, almost every day at times. But okay, I'll post here if you like. Alize is up an early break in the second set. HowardH Oct 18th, 2011, 11:59 AM 2-0. Keep going. HowardH Oct 18th, 2011, 12:06 PM Lost her serve. 2-2. Hit a volley in the net. HowardH Oct 18th, 2011, 12:16 PM Now Sveta is serving at 4-2 up  HowardH Oct 18th, 2011, 12:23 PM 2-5 HowardH Oct 18th, 2011, 12:31 PM Lost 3 and 3. First loss to Sveta. It was bound to happen sooner or later, the way she has been playing. améliemomo Oct 18th, 2011, 01:02 PM her actual ranking (96) doesnt lie. She doesnt have the level to beat a top20-25 player like Kuznetsova. Many tings lacking in her game right now. Logic result even if it's true you can NEVER know with sveta:help: something you have to know, alize goes back to the french tennis federation and training in Paris, not Nice anymore. She'll be coached by Georges Goven (former golovin and mladenovic coach) along with Pauline Parmentier. dont think he'll give her back a strong level but at least she's trying something. Not thinking she'll get back to a consistent level with her actual staff at Nice cause she didnt. she will have to train A LOT during the offseason cause her tennis is very POOR. Sombrerero loco Oct 18th, 2011, 01:10 PM yeah she has to work so much,... alize  Renaud Oct 18th, 2011, 04:53 PM bad game. Good phisical, good mental, but tennis ..... 2*net, 3*net :weirdo: Dorien. Oct 26th, 2011, 07:16 PM Anna TATISHVILI (GEO) defeated Alize CORNET (FRA) 0-6 6-2 6-4 After that first set  Sombrerero loco Oct 26th, 2011, 07:22 PM i cant alize  please find yourself a game...she should work so much during the off season HowardH Oct 27th, 2011, 04:59 AM What happened after the first set? Sombrerero loco Oct 30th, 2011, 09:49 AM she is playing a 50k+H this week HowardH Oct 31st, 2011, 10:41 AM By the way, Alize and Virginie Razzano won the doubles in 100k Poitiers. So at least she won something. Sombrerero loco Oct 31st, 2011, 10:44 AM she is not playing doubles this week though... Boomer23 Nov 1st, 2011, 10:01 PM I was at the Nantes tournament all day, and it was quite a day ! The Cornet-Savchuk match : alize dominated fairly easily the first set (even though 6-0 don't quite reflect what I witnessed) then in the second Savchuk started to play a lot better and it was a lot closer, she almost won the 2nd set. alize played really well all along, We've seen wonderful points, her attitude in the second set was not the best but she managed to kill the match, it was close and physicaly it was hard on the end not sure she would have won if there went to a tird set. Sombrerero loco Nov 1st, 2011, 10:05 PM alize please win the second round on thursday too, please^^ HowardH Nov 2nd, 2011, 09:39 AM Good luck to her in the second round.
