My serve is probably my better shot. I usually serve and volley. :p Backhand comes second I guess. My worst shot is the forehand. :help:

Either CC Backhand or DTL Backhand. I love hitting it DTL, so I chose that one.

My Backhand cross court followed by my backhand down the line. I have always hand a naturally good backhand. Sometimes my forehand can go off and I can lose confidence and get passive but I have so much confidence in my backhand. I just step into it and wack it every time and more often then not it goes in and its near the lines.

My Favorite shot is definitely the forehand cross court. I love watching my opponents faces when I slam back their serves cross court straight past them for winners. Hitting the back hand down the line is also pretty damn satisfying.

Definitely 100% of my knowledge my groundies are the strongest basis of my game. As which is my best shot (which is off the ground), somedays my FH CC & s'times DTL is really good when its on, but I make more errors off those shots when I don't get them right.

Whereas with my BH DTL & CC they are really good shots when they are on, however since they are the more solid shots in my game, I'll make less errors but make less winners than off my FH CC or DTL.

At the moment I would say my BH CC, hit some really awesome ones by taking them really early so yeah I'll say that is my best shot. In general probably my 2 handed backhand all-round (CC & DTL - more consistent). Its tough.

My drop shots used to be really good, now they're like lobs. My backhand was also my more powerful stroke, now I hit it long all the time.

I need to practice more.

DTL backhand for me, definitely.

I have one of the best backhands in the province here, and whenever I play against a new opponent, they always go crazy in the first few games when they naturally hit it there. My down-the-line is especially surprising, as not a lot of people use it as much.

But hey, the moment they figure it out, they send me some high forehands and I'm screwed ;)

My BH(Especially CC) has become probably my better shot, It's good down the line too, as well as my CC forehand. The easiest way to break me down in the middle of the rally is to force me to hit a DTL Forehand. I have no idea why, but I just cannot aim that shot well and as such, gently sorta tap the ball in with no authority and get murdered outright. My serve can be great and abysmal within a single match, but I've literally never NOT DFed in a match, so I'll say DFs are my most reliable shot.

I have 6 or 7 equally great shots that people see me rip for winners or are affective weapons. My biggest strength overall is my backhand ... I can hit inside out crosscourt - mid court or create any angle I choose. My dtl backhand is something I use usually to dispatch a weak serve but hardly use in a rally. I have a strong forhand inside out shot I use to end points with but my favorite and go to shot is when I step in and hit the fdtl ESP when u get a shoulder length ball. I deal with those balls rather harshly...although my movement around the court is exceptional and I can slice affectively And have good volley skills too. I'm pretty good on the run as well

I suppose my best groundie is the forehand down the line. Ive developed a perfect lob too though from playing a 6'7 guy for the entire summer but I love drop volleys too, mainly because I love luring them up to the net and then using a mid court lob. I suppose lob, I love it, especially how infuriating it must be for my opponents.

It depends on how I'm playing. Usually my forehand is consistent. I can hit it decently cross court (preferably inside out) but I prefer DTL. My backhand when on is pretty decent both CC (inside out too) and DTL, but that's not very often. I do love hitting backhands though :D. Same applies to my serve, although I've learnt to control that and put more spin on it. My moonballs are amazing too! I hit a moonball winner once! :D

for me it's my backhand volley, which is the unorthodox swinging two-hander at all times. I just seem to have great timing with it and usually make good contact. My forehand down the line is my second best for sure.

Forehand is my best shot, I used to hit better inside out but now I prefer down the line or crosscourt, but any kind of forehand is fine by me. I run around many times, but I like the backhand slice. I have a one handed backhand and it has been difficult to develop well, but I am figuring out how to hit topspin now.

I don't know how to handle raw power or pace, though, so no shot of mine works if something is coming at me really fast.

Yep. Me too! My ground game is my strong part, Im not that bad of a volleyer. My weaknesses are my serve(first AND second) and my ability to go for my shots in matches. Some minor stuff ya know...:p

I am physically fit to go the distance. I feel I would have a very good three set win-loss record. Currently 2-1...

My best shot is my serve, but I'm reluctant to click on the poll because I can do all types of serves well. On the deuce court, when I hit the big serve down the middle, I toss the ball above my head and not slightly to the right, so I hammer it but I come over the ball as well, so I naturally impart some topspin so I don't consider it a flat delivery, I think the spin is hard to deal with on the opponent's racquet. I'm also able to serve in different locations of the box with the same ball toss. My favoutite serves are the serve to the forehand side on the deuce court, and the serve down the middle on the ad court, I like to use slice to swing it down the middle. I've also developed a high kicking topspin serve as well. On quite a lot of ocassions, my 1st and 2nd serves can be quite similar and I can serve quite a few aces because I enjoy serving into the corners of the box.

There was an interesting observation I made in 2005 which improved my game by 50% I feel. I was at the French Open where I saw Mary Pierce play Lindsay Davenport on court centrale. I noticed that when Mary served she held the racquet right at the butt, something I didn't take much notice of before then.

When I got home I tried it and have been using that technique since, it really loosens up the arm and actually increases power, I could serve all day with pace because I'm loose. It really helps on all aspects of the game, including grounstrokes everything. I also studied the other top players and most of them do the same, Federer, Sampras etc who have natural power. I also studied Hingis and noticed she held the racquet higher up the handle, that robs her of natural power I reckon, especially if we consider Henin was probably slightly smaller but got more out of her shots.

I have two Flexpoint prestige racquets 93 sq inch strung at 60 pounds (quite tight), I use Babolat xcel and hurricane strings.

vozas
Nov 6th, 2011, 10:21 PM
Definitely my backhand. My forehand is quite one dimensional even though I generate a lot of pace off it. But my BH has a lot of variety. It has always been a much more natural shot to me than the FH I don't know why. I'm goofy when snowboarding so that probably explains why I feel so comfortable with my footwork and balance setting up the BH. I can hit it really early DTL and I have good control on by left hand to create a great angle cross court.

I used to have a great serve but it has lost some power ever since I fucked up my shoulder. I can still slice it really well but my flat serve isn't really as dangerous as it used to be.

So yeah basically I'm Maria Sharapova :P just kidding. I love my backhand and it's probably the one shot that made me love Maria so much as well.

My 2HBH is the most safest shot. I am a one hander so I don't practice 2HBH at all, but sometimes I use it in a match (when I am trying to dig out a deep ball or something) and it's always works well.

I always sucked at the forehand, all I can do is push with it or if I go for power always seem to frame it :o

My best shot is now hitting the forehand down the line three meters wide from the doubles alley.

Well, it changed a lot during the years. I'd say my "most powerful" is Forehand DTL, but my best overall shot is Backhand DTL. My forehand can be better than my backhand, but also very worse if I'm tense. BH's more of a barometer of my play.

Oh, and I got a 10+ ace serve too :p

Either CC Backhand or DTL Backhand. I love hitting it DTL, so I chose that one.

This.

first serve is a great weapon of mine, but since I got a low back injury I had to change the movement and it´s still good, but I have a too low %. FH is my most solid shot, it´s a huge topspin FH, which gets really effective mostly CC. I have a great tight angle CC as my best shot I guess.
BH  the few days it´s on it is a nice flat and secure shot both CC (mostly) and DTL, but those days happen once every 5-7 so I mostly slice the shot out of it and (i know this isn´t flattering) but I have a really tricky sliced FH too and a good chop return
