www.usopenseries.com

USO Series continues to ignore the lower women's events. I hated it when Cincinnati was a Tier III and yet all the advertisements were "All North American Summer Events included in the USO."

Negative.

Both the Troy event and Grapevine/Dallas event are conveniently not mentioned anywhere. And yes, it was updated. See the Winston-Salem article re: ATP New Haven being relocated.

Looks like this inaugural event ("Mid-Atlantic Women's Tennis Championships at College Park" (http://www.wtatennis.com/page/Tournaments/Info/0,,12781~2182,00.html)) will be played at Tennis Center at College Park (http://thetccp.com/) and not at Troy Park Tennis & Sports Center (http://www.troyparktennis.com/) in Ellicott City, MD.

Is the venue change because Troy Park Tennis & Sports Center isn't built yet?
Anyways, I googled the Tennis Center at College Park and found this.
Interesting layout. Tennis center is located next to an airport.
But where is the main stadium?

This place housed a Challenger I attended a couple of times while I went to school at UMCP. In fact I was able to walk to the event from my apartment. It is walking distance from the Metro station (crossing one semi-busy road, Paint Branch). Some of my friends worked at the Tennis Center as well. They often have junior events, as well as, I believe, the USTA qualifying WC play-offs for the Mid-Atlantic section.

The court off-set to the other ones is next to the clubhouse and I assume that will be the main court, but it must have required erecting more bleachers for seats, and bleachers period over some of the other courts to set up this "Court 1."

The large white rectangles you see contain indoor courts and there is more space for people to sit and watch...I'm wondering if those are retractable roofs (they almost look like tarp-like material) and that's where the tournament will be held.

As for the airport, it's historical, rarely (if ever) used and if so, only for tiny gliders or perhaps for children to land their kites or mobile planes. The noise from the Metro and Amtrak trains will be about nine billion times louder.

Has anybody attended qualies? I've been busy with work and indeed will be out of town until Friday, but hope to attend Saturday and/or Sunday. I can provide some insight then.
