She has a good shot at the title.

Marion, Jie, and Pavlyuchenkova are the top seeds.

God, what an easy field. I hope she takes it seriously.

:tears::hysteric: The amount of times Ive said that.

Interesting to note that she's doing the polar opposite of what she did last year.

I just wish she would play Paris

Paris would be a much better idea than Dubai I think.

Yeah, but she hasn't played Paris indoors since 08- bad memories

Gawd, awful injury/loss to an awful player! She would have won the title otherwise!

I know , but the injury was her own fault.

Still, huge credit to her for finishing a match (for the crowd) when she genuinely should have retired.

Concerning Paris, Tournament director and IMG France Manager Régis Brunet said in l'équipe a month ago that Marion won't come like in 2009 and 2010.

The big question is to know what will be her reaction if she's called to play fed cup vs Russia.

She better not play New Haven this year. :tape:

if she want play JO in london, and i think she want, she has to play fed cup in 2011.
but i can imagine Marion with Razzano and Rezai in the same team.

She refused selection in 2008 vs China.

If she's not selected, remains top 50 and in french top 4, no problems.

yes but i think french federation would propose her a selection in 2011
she would be forced to make a choice

I'm sure she's selected, she'll come.

Dunno what will be Escudé and Hagelauer's strategy.

Hagelauer just said that the core of fed cup team in 2011 will be Alizé, Aravane, Marion, Mathilde and Pauline in alphabetical order here : http://www.fft.fr/cms/GetDoc.asp?Type=5&ID=15316 page V

Imo, he forgot Virginie Razzano (single and doubles) and Julie Coin (doubles).

I wish it would start already! Im getting impatient. Im excited that shes playing 2 MMs first, especially Hobart with its incredibly weak field. I presume she'll do the Dubai/Doha double before IWs... Would prefer her to do Paris, take a break and then do Monterrey tbh...

She never said she won't play Paris. Tournament director and IMG France boss Regis brunet said that.

But the new is that former top 40 Alexandra Fusai who's now in charge of French women elite wishes to discuss with her about fed cup and many other subjects : INTERESTING LINK (http://marionbartoli.blog.co.uk/2010/12/17/alexandra-fusai-new-women-s-tennis-tsar-10204502/)

Zheng and Bondarenko out. Hobart field is weaker, looks like Marion, Pavy, Pironkova and Vinci will be top seeds. Unless a big WC enters of course.
