It was almost like a Fed Cup reunion. I want Anna to be motivated like she was in Israel.

Is it possible that she's going to enter all the tournaments she originally planned to and is going to pull out of them closer to the actual tournament if she is not yet recovered? Or are there fines for doing that?
As for the return plan, there's no report of a real timeline at the moment, but they seem to be thinking of weeks, not many months (her father said she might miss RG if needed, which indicates the timeframe they are looking at).
Copenhagen is after RG, right?

Apr 28th, 2011, 06:17 PM
i think it great really to play @ e-Boks Sony Ericsson Open if she do play and hopefully she healthlly but come on let be real anna know how to play on grass and really i wouldn't wont her to play @ AEGON Classic due to how strong to the field is maria and li na Bartoli & Kanepi,Rezai & Peng that females she really struggle with. and she has a better chance of winning e-Boks Sony Ericsson, Open she have beaten Safarova,Sevastova before and Szavay. and I don't see her having problem to beat player like Zakopalova or Barbie and BMS really the only three I be worry about her going against is Krajicek (even through Krajicek out the top 100 she finding herself some form and anna never beaten her). Dokic, and Wozniacki. But really if she get a good draw healthly hopefully she might could win it if those three is out her way. and another thing is anna still will have time to play on grass before wimby there still AEGON International & UNICEF Open.

Anna is still in the Rome entry list? Wonder if she's making her return there, it would make possible for her to have some kind of a clay season... Just hope she's not forcing it.
Fingers crossed :yeah:

Slightly OT: my sister used to have some blood pressure problems that are somewhat akin to Anna's, in the sense that they were clearly triggered by specific factors (in her case, being in crowded places or places with bright lights), that led to severe blood pressure loss, dizzyness and even fainting on occasion. Doctors only told her to keep hydrated at all times and to try to sit (or lay if possible) down immediately once she felt the first signs. My sister also said that whenever the triggers appeared, she would get so afraid of feeling dizzy and sick that it only made her worse. Anyways, the problem disappeared spontaneously after a month or so, never to return. Hope that's what happens to Anna as well.

so she suddenly started having this problem without any specific cause? the difficult part for Anna is to find some treatment for the mental causes. so for all the doctors can say is the heart is okay

so she suddenly started having this problem without any specific cause? the difficult part for Anna is to find some treatment for the mental causes. so for all the doctors can say is the heart is okay

Yes, i mean, she said she never liked crowded or bright places (who does anyway?), but she never felt sick in them, just uncomfortable. We never could find a specific cause to those attacks, and her blood pressure was normal (120/80) any time she was out of the triggers.
She would just go white as a sheet (that's a signal of less blood going to the head apparently) and start feeling dizzy, then her vision would go a little blurry and when she didn't do anything about it she fainted for like 5 seconds (happened a couple of times).
Thankfully, she is back to just feeling uncomfortable again like the rest of us.

With regards to Anna, i suspect that it might just disappear as well, but is she willing to risk playing and having to retire again? She sounds very embarassed by all of this, and all the criticism she must be getting for not taking care of her health when doctors say she is fine, and the very fact that they say she is fine must also be very annoying.

King Halep
Apr 30th, 2011, 03:32 PM
Yes its good that it disappeared. Everyone seems to think Anna got it because of the flu, but we cant be sure that was the only cause. Surely then it should have gone away with some rest. She wont know if its fine until she plays again. Even with that, she seems to cope with easy opponents so she needs a hard match to test it. Dont know if she is embarassed, it sounded more like she is depressed that they cannot find the problem. She was aiming to get back into top 30 and it looked like her game has been getting better, but every time she gets some kind of health problem. I think if she can ever get 5 or 6 tournaments in a row she will really get her form back.

The Brussels Ladies Open website updated their players list to deal with the announced withdraw of Venus Williams (although the PDF still lists Venus), but Anna is still there. So is Julia Görges however, and according to the Julia fans here on TF and the WTA itself she won't be playing until FO.

I would be very surpred if Anna played Brussels, or the FO for that matter. Last time she got sick, news came early about her practicing and playing Stuttgart, so due to the complete lack of any information, i think the earliest we might see her is at Copenhagen (along with their lovely unbiased line judges ).

Just hope she returns completely healthy for once :wavey:

Kvitova, Cibulkova and Goerges withdraw from Brussels Open
19:15
At the last minute three top players at the Brussels Open withdrew because of various reasons. Petra Kvitova, new member of the top ten, played a lot these last weeks - she won in Madrid last Sunday. Dominika Cibulkova and Julia Goerges, who suffered from a bad back, didn't want to take any risk prior to Roland Garros.
