Has it ever happened at an event that the country's top 6 players do not play a tournament in that country ??? I can only think of something like this happening in Dubai or Doha or Brazil ... but Russia :spit:

Vera Zvonareva
Elena Dementieva
Maria Sharapova
Nadia Petrova
Sveta Kuznetsova
Dinara Safina

Not Playing Moscow 2010

Up to Ana Pavlychenkova, Maria Kirilenko and Alisa Kleybanova to fly the Russian Flag :help:

Maria and Dinara really don't fit in.
I do think this is very sad but some of them do have legitimate reasons as to why they are not competing.
Go Kiri!!! :cheer2:

I agree with poster who said blame the roadmap

moscow unfortunately got the shit end of the stick, its place in the calendar needs to be moved. having said that, they may get a much stronger field next year as the YEC to moves to Istanbul.......INDOORS
