Belinda is currently playing the qualies for the Junior Event at Esch sur Alzette, Luxembourg, as the 3rd seed :cheer:
Q1: Bencic B (3) vs. Pisani V
GL :)
BTW: She is still only 13  :hearts:
Belinda Bencic (Q) d. M. Spremo (SRB, WTA Nr. 543) 57 63 61 !
This is amazing,
she is 14 years old and beat a top 600 player - great.
Will she continue at the junior tour or at ITF tournaments?
What are the rules: How many tournaments (ITF) is she allowed to play?
What makes more sense: To play ITF or another year Junior Tournaments?

Anyway, awesome win :inlove:
Keep going :cheer:
Wow great win over Ostapenko. Kristina Schmiedlova must be the younger sister of Anna Karolina Schmiedlova. She seems to be a talented player also. Hope Belinda can keep this run going. :yeah:
Cucumber_Conny have you seen these videos of Belinda against Komardina in the finals of a U14 mixed Czech club league last week?
I'm definitely a fan of her now. Those groundstrokes are just awesome. :inlove: She seems to be a pretty feisty competitor as well but not in an over the top way, which is good. :p

She plays (WC)Yulia Putintseva in the first round. Not an easy draw. Putintseva is by far the best for her age group in the world and won a $50,000+H tournament a few months ago. However her form since hasn't been that great. I don't expect a win but let's see how she does. How exciting! :)

Belinda's little brother, Brian, just had the biggest career success this week-end.
He finished third in Nick Bolleteri's Little Mo Internationals.
Congrats :bounce:
He defeated the number one and number seeds en route and lost to the eventual winner, also triumphing in the little final for the third place.
In doubles, Brian won the trophy with Polish junior Lukas Paluch :yeah:
Belinda has a new career high ranking of #86 on the ITF junior rankings this week, after winning in Prerov last week. She should definitely win this title also. :)

What a waste of time to play this. It will barely help her ranking. Does anyone know of a schedule for her? Is she going to play some GA's or was this such an easy G1 that she doesnt think shes good enough?

The top seed is the crying puddler from Les Petits As. AKA Anastasija Komardina :roflmao:
SF against (1) Komardina (RUS)
Actually Komardina is seeded (1) but ranked #158 and Belinda is now in the top 100 so it should be ok
Good luck Bel :yeah:

chingching, the G1 Belinda won in Prerov last week (Czech International Indoor Junior Championships) was a bit weak as all the top junior players are playing the Australian Open. Anyway, this will definitely help Belinda get into some bigger GA and G1 events, and she will probably make the Roland Garros maindraw list, if she keeps playing well. :yeah: I forgot to mention that Belinda is now the highest ranked Swiss player on the ITF junior rankings. :D She's the fourth highest 1997 girl after Abanda, Kudermetova and Ostapenko.
I agree this is good match practice against players she really should be beating, and so far she is. That being said, Komardina in the next round will be a real test. As LefandePatty said, Belinda's actually ranked higher than her, because the seeding was done based on last week's rankings before Belinda's Prerov points were added.
Well done Bel! It was a tough match (2h24), so it was a real test for Bel, good for her she won this one! :yeah: :bounce:

Belinda won her first match of Beaulieu-sur-Mer, 6-2 6-0 against Gabriela Talaba.Next is Camilla Rosatello.
She's unlucky to be on that side of the draws. Players like Zakarlyuk, Rosatello or Flink are hanging there. The other one would've been so much easier.

Can Belinda whore and win enough tournaments to end the season in the top ten? That would be incredible but maybe a little too much to ask. Barely squeaked by Rosatello last week in France so it should be a really tight final.

There's a very useful report about Belinda's style, as very few of us actually seen her play. (http://www.tennisforum.com/showpost.php?p=21370558&postcount=18)
Other 2 useful reports from Orio:
About Bel's serve (http://www.tennisforum.com/showpost.php?p=21371925&postcount=22)
About the final (http://www.tennisforum.com/showpost.php?p=21371962&postcount=23)
Thus being said, yeah, I think Belinda can be top 10 by the end of the year. Other 2 G2 wins plus a few other mediocre results would be enough.
