Really? I put my vote in for Capriati. Since Roland Garros, she's just been all over the place.

it's difficult to say in a fair way. jelena has obviously burntout at the end of this season. while kim struggled with form for at least the first half of the season due to injury and henin has been having some bad results as well as having a broken finger.

i'd say henin.

Jennifer has only lose twice before the quarterfinal of an event. All her other results are great. Jelena OTOH results are less impressive and speratic(sp?). She can really well sometimes and other times it just doesn't come together. She has 13 1st/2nd/3rd losses.

but she plays more often so there is more risk of losing earlier in some tournies due to fatigue or loss of form for playing too much.

And who is making her play that much? She is not consistant.

Jen has had QF's since Roland Garros, except the last two weeks [which, by the way are her only non-QF showings along with Sydney] but she just lost some odd matches.

Dokic def. 26 62 64; in a weird match, where no one really held serve.

Sugiyama def. 63 63; what happened exactly?

Mauresmo def. 64 61; great first; but where's the Jen fight that we saw in 2001?

Mauresmo def. 46 76 63; a battle. The only battle Jen had this summer where she won

well then, Jarrett, we can't compare the two players in a fair way then so how can you say justine is more consistent?

Consistant to me is getting far in every tournament a player plays.

Justine only have 6 1st/2nd/3rd round losses. Yes she played less, but I still think she is more consistant then Jelena.

Actually Daniela, should have her own voting option, she is not on par with Lindsay, the Williams, Monica or Ameile.

To me Henin's a clay/grass court player. She will get far in those events; but hardcourt/indoors she will be inconsistent.

IMO, Jelena: regardless of the surface, you never know who will show up. Example: US Open against Bovina. Bovina played well; but where was Dokic? She didn't put up much of a fight.

Oh yea, anyone can lose to Rubin 6-0 6-2, Bovina, Myskina, Shaughnessy, Coetzer, Panova and Stevenson in just 8 weeks, and lose like a million times to Anne Kremer before that, right?

Antwerp: F--not her fault, but had an easy draw
Leipzig --isn't this Indoor Carpet?
US Open--has never been past the 4th RD!
Sanex Champs--lost where she was suppose to
Gold Coast--Tier 3, enough said
Montreal--again, lost where she was suppose to.
Indian Wells--HUGE upset. at the time, she should have beaten Dani

Consistent to me is reaching a similar stage in every tournament a player plays, be it 1st round, QF or Winner.

I guess you could think of consistant in a bad or good way. I pick good.

I voted for Jelena, but after thinking about it, I don't think she is the most inconsistant player. She has been playing consistantly, but consistantly bad. When was the last time she made it past the 2nd round of a tournament? The girl is in serious need of some time off

who cares who was more consistent or less consistent?

with tennis the player's games just keep evolving , and i think Jelena is much more the risk taker whilst Justine tends to play more within herself....which is why Jelenas had great wins/bad losses and Justine on the surface seems to be more consistent

over the long haul Jelenas style will pay dividends. the future is about relentless aggression...with some more seasoning on the tour she will only get more consistent and better. also as pointed out jelena justifiably is TIRED at her own fault

well i voted for Kim.

When i think of inconsistency it's someone who can beat the top players or really challenge them one day and then lose to a nobody the next day. Kim, IMO, does that the best.

Jelena can't beat (or even challenge) some of the top-top players, like Lindsay-Venus-Serena, so her range of play is a lot smaller than Kim's IMO....that's why i voted for kim.

I've had a long night, so maybe that doesn't make sense to many people, but i know what i mean ;) lol

my vote goes to dokic once kim and justine get more experience with the big names jelena will seeing the bottom half of the top ten for quite awhile. Oh unless she plays her ususal 40 tournaments:rolleyes:
