monique viele is one of the hottest tennis players ever. she is currently on the challenger circuit but she serves at 115 mph so we may see on the WTA tour very soon. but not till next year because she is injured and has said she won't be playing until next year.

Isn't that a pic from like '98 or something like that? I've been seeing that same pic of her and hearing about her for what seems like forever. Monique is another one of the reasons why professional tennis is one of the wierdest sports anywhere in the world.

please no more hype about her Shapira or lucic, etc until they beat somebody ranked higher than 10. it is so tiresome and the WTA already has a beauty queen, Anna K so these other girls dont come close to Anna so it is pointless.

Like Anna said, the copy is never as good as the origanal.

Is it just me or are some people suddenly taking Viele seriously again? If anyone can explain this phenomenon to me, I would be very grateful.

that would have been funny. i think her coach once said she would be the first player ever, to sing at the opening of a grand slam and then win the whole thing.

Gowza,
Were you serious with what you said in the opening of this thread, or were you being sarcastic?

Gowza
Oct 18th, 2002, 04:44 AM
i was serious, i mean she is pretty hot. i'm just sick of waiting for her to make it big on the tour. i think she is one of the only players who has been hyped to make it big, and hasn't even achieved a medicore result. but i do want her to be in the top ten someday. she's kind of like lucic. she's had a lot of personal problmes as well as injury which have stopped her from reaching her best.

I think one of the biggest personal problems she's had to overcome was all the people who were lying through their teeth, telling the world she was 100 times better than what was true. To have a colossal athletic talent that is strictly the figment of someone's imagination can be a real burden.

Gowza,
Even without the professional/personal problems, I heard that she is not a very good tennis player. Also, you are being nice to her when you call her results "mediocre".

Gowza. Im not jealous. I believe there is a difference between looking hot and looking nasty. it takes class. Leopard print. She looks like a cheap hooker. No offence to her fans but if she got some class she could be classified as hot. She tries to hard. Beauty shines through. Maybe it is the leopard print, I dont know. But money cant buy class. You only have to look at her features to see she is not a true beauty. Fake??? blue contacts and piles of make-up dont make beauty

This girl is ok,there has been so much hype around her because of the whole Donald Trump thing. Ok tell me this what are her problems? She is apperently a millioner, she has the best sponsors in the world, her family is perfect her parents let her do what she desires,so why hasnt she ever been ranked under 300?
Maybe coz she is not talented as others,I personaly have never seen her play, but I saw her at many tournaments(where she wasnt compiting) parading around in the shortest leather mini skirt, and her fake boobs,I think if she has as much talent as they say she does, she should give her all to the tennis,if not then good luck!

maybe she lost her father to cancer this year in may! and she continously gets injured. people i have talked to have said that she has potential but they only see it when she really goes for the ball and apparantly she doesn't do that all that often.

she did say that she was going to concentrate on tennis next year more than she has in the past. so maybe she'll get a higher rank then.

Gowza, given her age --- an age that I doubt is quite accurate as she certainly doesn't look as young as claimed --- one has to put almost all of the blame on her parents, agents, and handlers for all the hype.

But most of us are TIRED of hearing vapourous claims about how great she is or will be.

Gowza

she is 18

disposablehero
Oct 18th, 2002, 07:21 AM
Oh Denise, her age must certainly be correct, what with all the legal work they were willing to go through to get past the AER.

Gowza, back when she had absolutely no problems, she was a crap player. I don't know if she has ever won a match above the $10K Challenger level, and that is in qualifying. She stinks.

I like Steffi Graf, Anna Kournikova, Alex Steve, Mary Pierce(pre-drugs) Mauresmo and others. And yes there are 1500 players on the rankings, and most of them dont feel they need to wear a tacky tiger print dress and a ton of makeup at age 15. She should chill with the big talk and sexy clothes until she wins two matches in a row at least.

Her eyes are an amazing color. I wonder if she's wearing those contacts

On another note, do we REALLY need another player that is all looks? Ashley Harkleroad is the current member of this club.

Myskina, Hantuchova, and Kournikova are in their too, but they've had results.

And before everyone jumps on me about Kournikova having "results"--keep in mind she was in the top 10. You don't get there by looking good ;)

Correct me if I'm wrong, but did she not just lose her father to cancer recently?

Anyhow, she was very young when she was being hyped up - I personally don't hold her accountable for any of that, or the photo shoots that she did as a result of it.

Who I AM appalled at, are the parents/agents/freinds/family who allowed a young GIRL to be manipulated in such away.

Gowza
Oct 18th, 2002, 07:39 AM
she was 14 when she was hyped up and yes she did recently lose her father to cancer. god bless her and her family.

i really think the reason why she hasn't made it big on tour at least so far, is because she left the juniors at 14 and therefore got no match practice because of the age eligibility rule.

Crazy Canuck

Gowza
Oct 18th, 2002, 01:59 PM
anton, most girls wear-make-up from the age of 12 and are certainly wearing it by the age of 15. as for saying she wanted to play venus well who cares? she was only 15 and teenagers do say things they can't back and are very confident about themselves. don't have ago at me. i was just interested in peoples opinions about her. i do admit i want her to make it big but i didn't make her do the things she did then and i'm not defending them. i didn't say it was right or wrong for her to were make-up or say she wanted to play the best in the world. i just said she is hot and how far do you think she can go in tennis. so if you don't like the thread stop coming back.

i read an article "Phenom 2000" or something like that in tennis australia mag where they were comparing her to Seles, Hingis and Anna...i think thats like comparing apples o oranges and silly when she hadnt even played anything other than USTA events when that article was written.

but still...i think when she can get in to focus, if she does serve that hard its only a matter of getting experience and we will see her playing lower tiered WTA events perhaps some day. I hope shes atleast a successful challenger player.

Not to be rude but the gal seems as though she comes from "ivory rubbish" if you catch my drift. Seems like somebody's hillybilly parents got the idea that their daughter was going to become the World's first singing tennis player. Yikes!

I don't know this gal, and she could be an incredible human being, but breast implants? And she just turned 18? Well, I suppose now that she's 18 she can legally get that soft core porno career started! I can't wait to see her on Cinemax after dark.

By the way, seems to me that Monica lost a father and has been injured many times, she doesn't seem to have a problem winning most of her matches in actual WTA events!

Maybe I'm being harsh, but when you put yourself out there the way she and her handlers have you're asking for trouble.

I'll reserve judgement until I see her hit a ball- I don't remember seeing any results from her ever to be honest? Has she ever played qualis or any WC's into a main draw? I'll check..... I've heard about Monique for a long time now and I know that it must be hard to lose her father, but on the tennis side, I don't anything about her results. Best of luck to her anyways.....

I think she was 13 for at least a few years before she supposedly turned 14. Why? Perhaps to seem like a better player for her age than she was. Perhaps because suing the WTA got her more publicity than she could get on the merits of her playing. ...

Monique's problems is that she is just incredibly multi-talented. Not only can she play tennis but she can dance, sing, act, model. The girl needs to straighten her priorities and just focus on tennis. Her father's death must have definitely been a huge setback. But I'm sure she can eventually get to be a top 20 player.
