Good luck in Seoul, Nadia!:);)

Groth is a tough 1R opponent.

It depends which Nadia turns up - the one whose reached the QFs of the AO, RG, Rome and Madrid and the final of New Haven. Or the player who has lost in the first round six times this year.

Feel exactly the same.:p

If Nadia plays like at US Open, it will be a 1R exit...

Here's a report from some TF member that was at the match:

After that debacle, I stuck around for the first set of the Nadia Petrova-Jarmilla Groth match. The tennis was not great at all. I'm not sure if Jarmilla was tired from her tournament win last week, but she was making error after error. Nadia was smartly not going for very much and putting just enough pressure on Jarmilla to let her self-destruct. Nadia was also the most talkative player on court of the day. She talked to the ballkids quite a bit, saying "Thank you" when she wanted the ball and at one point admonishing, "Throw this way," when a ballboy was about to throw the ball directly to her from the opposite side of the court instead of passing it to the ballkid on Nadia's side of the court first. Also, when the umpire overruled a service call, Nadia went up to him and said something like, "I wish there was a camera, because you missed it by THIS much," showing a big gap with her hands. Nadia was also wearing the most interesting outfit of the day. She was wearing a tight black shirt, black cycling shorts, and what appeared to be two different skirts, a black one under a pink, ruffly one. She looked kind of like an assassin who at the last minute decided to put on a ballerina's pink tutu skirt for whatever reason. It was a bit odd, but hey, more fashion power to her.

A shame Nadia got ill in Seoul and had to retire.

I wonder if this illness influenced her singles result in Tokyo.

If she was still ill Nadia should have pulled out or retired.

If Nadia was healthy then this loss to Vinci was really weak.

BTW all Seoul Semifinalists bombed out in R1 in Tokyo.:p

Again horrible result in a big event::(
New Haven F -> US Open R1 loss
Seoul SF -> Tokyo R1 loss

Hope this teaches Nadia to stop playing a small tournament the week before a big one!:sobbing:

My sig is an obvious dead giveaway for Dementieva fanship, and I often mentioned during her career that Elena received less attention than she would've had she displayed her amazing beauty in swimsuit mags like other Russians have...as a result, she was occasionally overlooked by some.........Anyway,Nadia is another Russian who's one of the nicest gals on Tour,so I hope that she can find that desire within herself to have the best possible 2011 season.I've enjoyed following her career

So did Nadia commentate on Eurosport Russia during the Kremlin Cup?
If yes, how was it? And is Nadia completely healthy again?

bruce goose
Dec 2nd, 2010, 05:52 PM
Welcome in Nadia`s forum, bruce goose.:wavey:Thanks but, truth is,I'm not a huge Nadia fan....I just like her as a person.A while ago, there was a rumor in Ana's forum that Nadia had made some strong, derogatory remarks about her. There's an unfortunately large amount of simple-minded,gullible posters there, but some of the more mature fans came to Nadia's defense right away and squashed the rumor as unfounded...especially b/c Nadia never would've said such nasty things.

She'll never get the same degree,or type,of attention that some other Russians receive;however, she's QUITE pretty when she lets her hair down...and she plays an exciting brand of powerful tennis that's easy to watch
