This week Sabine plays 100k tournament in the Bronx, first round she plays against Kristina Barrois!
Interesting match, Sabine has all chances if she shows a decent match but I dont know what to expect after her 36 06 against Niculescu...

(4)Angelique Kerber (GER) v Iveta Benesova (CZE)
Kristina Barrois (GER) v Sabine Lisicki (GER)

Kristina was a RU here last year. Definitely not an easy match, hoped for an easier one to start off with

Sabine

Seems to need some time.

US Open next, hopefully she can improve a little again.

Maybe she'll get a qualifier in R1 of USO? Any win would help atm

It's really time to go back to ITF tournaments after the US Open. She won't win a match in New York.

There are a few players who woul be beatable if she improves her game a bit, like Meusburger, Zahlavova,Voracova,Rogers,Capra, Gullickson, but she would need lots of luck then and even if she plays against one of them, not sure if she would be able to beat them..but ok, 36 36 is decent result, she didnt lose 12 games in a row like against Niculescu, but long way to go.... for now ,a win in NY is not realistic!

The problem is that she really needs points. She could be out of the top 200 at the end of the year.

I give her a few more matches, some just need a bit time, others never reach their old level again, dont want to talk about that, but well, she definetly needs some decent wins until the season is over, otherwise

Yes, because she still needs about 65 points this year for Melbourne 2011, but not for getting into the MD, but for getting into the QD.

6 games against Barrois is better than last week 3 games against Niculescu, but it's still a long way for her.

ah, well, letīs hope that her opponent is not healthy and retires in 1st round of NY :tape: :o
Some challengers after NY would be fine, she could win some matches there for sure, well, should at least, that is most important, that she gets some wins and practice...

points are the last thing she should care about now. It's all about getting in form again, then the points will come automatically.

that is true, but fans like us, we can also check pts etc. as points are at least helpful on her way back ;)

Yes, but in the worst case, she won't be in the Melbourne qualifying

She has tons of points to defend till the end of the year.

Bali 160
US Open 100
Tokyo 60

Well, you see that she still is too inconsistent, she has some phases where she already can play some great tennis but then again she loses 6 games in a row, Barrois said that she played solid, that means more or less that she just had to wait for the UEs from Sabine and not much more , I guess, but that was clear anyway :spit:

Yes, it is obvious that she needs matches. I am sure that she comes back good. It only needs more time.
Sure is hard but doable.
Come Sabine

I just hope her comeback isn't like Daniilidou's in 2008 :scared:
