It's hard to evaluate Shahar's chance and performance with all the coach mess so I guess all we can do it hope for the best and cross our fingers for her.
Draw will be out Tomorrow I think, however, I just really wanted to open the thread

Sunday is my last test of the degree.
Problem is, I keep sucking in the practice test and I'm scared I'll have to do Moed B.
Its weird, I sould care less and I just be exstatic to finish with uni.
Hopefully things work out okay, they always do somehow so I'm just staying positive.

I like USA too, so much as a matter of fact, that I'm gonna throw lots of money and travel there with friends :D Can't wait. Will be a nice scenary after finishing uni (וזה גם טיול לפני צבא :) ). So yeah! I'm even planning on going to the US Open for one day! :woohoo: I made the plans for the trip, and somehow in a miraculous way, I found out I'm in new york the exact time the first week of the US Open takes place. How crazy is that?

You won't see me on TV though, I'll just gonna get the cheapest tickets I can to the outside court, it should be 50$ which is affordable for a dream come true I guess :)

After more than a month off, Pe’er bounces back in Stanford
By ALLON SINAI
07/29/2010 03:50

Ranked number 16 in world, Pe'er was blanketed by Hantuchova, but fought back.

Shahar Pe’er got the post-Pablo Giacopelli era off to a winning start on Tuesday night, but not before surviving an early scare.

Pe’er, ranked number 16 in the world, was blanked by Daniela Hantuchova (25) in the first set of her first round match at the Bank of the West Classic in Stanford, California, but fought back in typical style and advanced to the last 16 with a 0-6, 6-4, 6-3 victory.

“I started pretty slow, but this was my first match after Wimbledon, so that is to be expected because it has been a while for me,” said Pe’er, who hadn’t played since her second round exit at the All England club over a month ago.

“Daniela is a good player, so it was going to be tough for me, but I’m happy I was able to pick up my game in the second set. I was concentrating more on making less errors and not waiting for the ball as much. I tried to be more aggressive.”

Pe’er, who is being coached by 51-year-old American Eliot Teltscher on a two-week trial basis after Giacopelli’s surprising departure, will face Russian Maria Kirilenko (27) in the second round on Thursday.

Shahar wins her 1st round doubles match as well:

^ Shahar lost 4 and 3 at the end.

First round of San Diego, Shahar beats Ivanovic 7-6(3) 6-3 :) only one break in the whole match

According to reports it was a sloppy match by Ana, so Shahar needs to step it up, to have even a small chance against (probably) Petrova

Well, she won her two first round matches against decent players, so she obviously not playing bad..

Just not at the form of before Pablo :)
She'll get it back though, I'm just glad she isn't losing 1RD, that would have shattered her confidence

Shahar has a favorable head to head against Radwanska (3-1). But she needs to step up her current level to have a good chance of winning their quarter-final match.

shirgan
Aug 4th, 2010, 10:27 PM
interesting to note Shahar is not playing doubles in this tournament. It's pretty unusual for her not to enroll in doubles as well as singles.
I think considering the circumstances it's a wise choice this time around.

quotes from the players after the peer-ivanovic match:

"When I was down 3-0, I started to build the points better and became more consistent. When I had my chances, I went for them," Peer said. "I was trying to dictate today. Hardcourt is my favorite surface. I grew up on hardcourts."

"I had chances but I never made that step. My timing was also off on my returns. But she didn't make many mistakes," Ivanovic said. "It's very frustrating. I feel really good in practice, but it's just not coming together in matches."

Wow :o the match against Shvedova seemed to be a nightmare.
Shame there's no streaming anywhere though!

Good luck though, may the better girl win ;)

Shahar is playing decently but so is Aga. Shahar needs to be a little more aggressive on Aga's serve.

Aug 7th, 2010, 03:45 AM
Okay. A Pablo chat is in need right now! :sobbing: 2 bps gone in the last game and just some really costly misses. She needs to pick it up or this is going to be in 2 quick sets. :o

Shahar beat Govortsova yesterday 6:3 4:1 ret, I think she retired due to heat illness, but anyway nice win and revenge from Shahar after losing to her several time, including the qualies here last year ;)
good luck next round!!!! :)

Archer16
Aug 10th, 2010, 08:55 PM
She already cut the strange 3 losses streak against her in the title run in Taskent, but closing the circle (I'm not sure this literal translation is accurate...) in the crime scene is nice.
She already avenged a '08 loss to NLV in this year's RG, but anyway she couldn't have gotten a better 2nd round draw here.
Next stop however...

Archer16
Aug 12th, 2010, 04:12 AM
An expected, routine second round win over NLV, 6-3 6-2.
Pavlyuchenkova is next - definitely better than playing Dementieva who's beaten Shahar 6 times in a row, but not an easy match by any means.

young_gunner913
Aug 12th, 2010, 04:45 AM
Decent shot vs Pavs. Good luck Shahar!! :)

Archer16

Shahar lost 7-5 4-6 4-6 :(
After being with a tour best 10-0 record in 3-setters this year following RG, she's now lost in 3 of her last 5 tournaments from a set up against lower ranked opponents.
