Wimbledon is biggest tennis event and Ana is still relevant tennis player - so of course we need separate thread about this like every year before (which maybe will be deleted in next about 15 hours :p). Draw with grass GOAT Venus already in 4th round kill every dream about eventual Ana really good result (to play into 2nd week), but if QF is mission impossible for Ana at this event, of course it's not same thing when she will finish 2010 Wimbledon - R1, R2, R3 or R4!? Actually her 1st match against 13th seeded Peer will be probably her most important match here. If Ana wins on opening day, she will prevent her by far worst Wimbledon result ever and road to R16 will be pretty open.

Ana's part of Main Draw:

(13)Shahar Peer vs Ana Ivanovic
Sania Mirza vs Angelique Kerber
Renata Voracova vs Jarmila Groth
Anna-Lena Groenefeld vs (33)Melanie Oudin

(26)Alisa Kleybanova vs Sandra Zahlavova

Players which beat Ana in Wimbledon: Pierce/05, Mauresmo/06, Venus/07/09/10, Zheng/08

Most Interesting Stat: Ana Ivanovic since 2007 every year at Wimbledon won some match when her opponent has multiple match points :eek::eek: which is unique 3 years in the row achievement in over 100 years long history of this event.

Go girl :rocker2: :drive:

Wimbledon 2010 First Round match:

Ana Ivanovic vs (13)Shahar Peer

H2H: Peer lead 1-0
YTD: Ana 11-11, Peer 30-12
Betting odds: Ana 2.10, Peer 1.70
Wimbledon achievements: Ana former semifinalist, only Jie Zheng is not GS champion of players which beat her there; Perr's worst GS, beat only one TOP50 ever here.

My personal opinion: Ana should win this... her weapons seems more dangerous than Shahar's weapons. I mean forehand, serve, volleys...etc...

Ana lose already 1st round match against in-form Peer (which is still mediocre grasscourt player).

After career worst US Open result, than career worst Australian Open result, than career worst Roland Garros result, Ana finally achieve today full slam-slump with career's worst Wimbledon result... so let's hope that since US Open she will start to rise again :tape:. BTW after today's lose Ana will drop from TOP60.

Worst thing about her current state is fact that she obviously not enjoy (at all) on court like she says so often these days (actually her body language on court is almost painful to watch) and my biggest hope when she start to work with former coach of biggest forehand in WTA history (Steffi Graf) that she will back for the start at least her former biggest weapon is not even close to be truth :help:.

Ana biggest goal during US Open series events should to be just to back her old attacking style (and her former forehand) no matter how many bad loses and UE's per match that will produce.

Whish You best Ana :wavey:

Maybe you jinxed her by reserving posts for her 2nd, 3rd and 4th round matches. :p

Maybe you jinxed her by reserving posts for her 2nd, 3rd and 4th round matches. :pAt least I'm not count Wimbledon Grand Slam like Ana's warm-up preparation for Deco-Turf season and not focused on number of Ana Double Faults like most important thing during this most prestige tennis event like some "loyal" fans doing here these days

it won't work... it will destroy her confidence even more...:o

she needs a psychologist, that's the only thing that can help her. and he will probably tell her that she just doesn't want to play tennis anymore, because that's what shoed today... if you don't put yourself in a position to hit the ball how can you even be playing professionally? she was immobile and cathatonic:tape::help:

Congrats on opening a thread for this most prestigious event. A one page thread.

People don't open new threads for Slams anymore because Ana doesn't stick around them long enough to justify clogging forum space with threads that will most likely be dead/closed after one, two matches at the most.
