Once again 17-24 seeds are more dangerous than 9-16

Kim as usual is rested after skipping RG just like she did last year when everyone was tired from the season...this time it wont work because everyone knows that you want to ambush players.
Kim no Wimbledon title win for you sweetie!!!

Does the seeding indicate who will play who and/or when? If not, when are the fictures decided and announced? I'm considering camping on Sunday 20th for day one on the 21st (it's my birthday!) but not sure how early to get there and who is likely to be playing centre court.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated - has anyone else camped for day 1? What time did you get there on the Sunday and what number in the queue were you? (I wanted to post these in a new thread but being a new member I don't seem to be able to.)

Thanks in advance for any suggestions :) :help:

Why because Henin and Safina are in there:confused:

other than Serena and Venus,Rodger Nadal and Roddick no one else is worth bumping up

Sharapova was bumped up last year significantly and then lost to Gisela Dulko in R2. That probably was embarrassing enough to stop them from tinkering with the rankings this year...

Based on the formula they use, with her 2nd round loss I doubt it would have made a difference in the seedings. Also I think they use special seedings after an injury return rather than arbitrarily. Anyway it will be interesting to see how the draw plays out because of the potential early rounds match ups.

they don't use any formula on the women's side.

Hewitt got bumped up from 26 to 15 this year. I'd say this was warranted since he is one of three Wimbledon champions in the men's draw and he's the only person apart from Nadal since 2003 to have defeated Federer on grass.

Hewitt wasn't "bumped", there is a mathematical formula that decides about the seeds on the men's side.

Sometimes I can't help wondering if people here even know anything about tennis rules or they become TF members purely out of fanboyism?

She's No. 33 in the ranking. I don't see why she shouldn't be.

Wimbledon has bumped the men but not the women. If that is the case then it should be fair all across the board. Roger has the most Wimbledons of active players ok so he was moved to number 1, Venus has most wimbledons among active players shouldn't she have been bumped to number 1. I don't get the choices for the men but not the women...hmmmmmmmmm

Wimbledon's "unique" way of seeding players is a joke! Yes, sometimes it does seem unjustifiable for them to bump certain players up or down, but they've always claimed that they don't seed based on tour rankings. But come on, this year, you have two former number ones with better Wimbledon track records than most of the other "newbies." You would think yes, this is the year that they would really demonstrate how their system works. NOPE, Kim Clijsters seeded 8th and only because of Dementieva's withdrawal, while Justine is seeded 17th, below Agnieszka Radwanska, Yanina Wickmayer, Shahar Peer, Flavia Pennetta...REALLY?!!!! So what's the result of this unfathomable system? Now Clijsters and Henin could possibly meet in the 3rd Round!!!! I saw that one coming as soon the seeding was released. Oh well, may the best Belgian win, I guess, but it is still pointless. They should disband the committee next year, and just print out the most recent wta ranking to make the whole process more efficient, if that's what they'll end up doing anyway.
