It's ITF time again in Switzerland. Since Zurich is gone, we have only 10K's to offer :sobbing:
At 10K Lenzerheide, a prominent name is in the draw: Marie-Gaiane Mikaelian, former #33, 26 years old.
She stormed throught the qualifying easily. She wants to give the tennis career another try.
Myriam Casanova, former #45, played a 50K tournament in Germany last year, reaching the SF (l. to Zahlavova Strycova). After this, Myri decided to call it a career, because her father didn't wanna accompany her on tour anymore..!
She played in the 2nd league in Switzerland, easily dominating all her matches...
You have to know, that Myri is from my small village, counting only 1500 people. I went to play tennis tonight, and I lost the second set to a guy I've never lost more than four games, because I had to watch her play. She played with a Golovin look-a-like and the level was incredible. They talked English and then I found out: this girl was Slovenian Dalila Jakupovic, #368. They practised about an hour (playing balls I've not seen in 6 WTA tennis matches today) and then a match which took only 50 minutes because Myri dominated it: 6-0, 6-0 :):)
If she only wants to play 2nd league, why does she practise with #368??? I think, she will come back. One who is in my IC team, is a good friend of hers. I gotta ask him about this...
(Unfortunately I didn't have my cam with me )
