Shoking loss...

Sandra still has 42 tournaments in one calender year... How long will she stay injury free?!

Well it's not like she plays 3-4 matches in every tournament.

True but still... 42 tournaments?! No wonder she loses early no time to train ;)

after the year that lena v. had in 2009, this is very disappointing, indeed :(.

Any player in the top 200 should not be losing to this wench. I don't care what kind of form they are in, it's just completely inexcusable.

I never ever have seen Lena play as bad as today.......

Horrible, absolutely not top 250 worthy.

Sandra is THE journeywoman extraordinaire. Just think, more than half her results don't even count towards her ranking so she can get slaughtered and it won't count, but win a few rounds here and there and she gets that top 100 place!

The amount of events that she plays is a bit ridiculous, but she's had this kind of schedule for over six years now and has (at least apparently) managed to avoid any kind of serious injury. Not playing doubles and obviously not going very deep into most events she plays helps too.

That being said, I don't understand the amount of flack she gets on this board. Considering that most of us criticize our favorites for being lazy, out of shape, or not motivated enough, we should be applauding a player who has as strong of a work ethic as anyone on tour, and has clearly squeezed every last drop out of a limited game.

Was just going to ask the same. Any hint of injury?

As far as I could tell, there were no hints of any physical injuries. She played with bandages around her left thigh, but to me this seemed to be just as a precaution. She didn't train with them, nor did she played with them during doubles.
Mentally however....... I have a strong suspicion she's getting tired of tennis or at least can't handle the pressure of matches anymore. When I spoke with her, at least she gave me this impression without telling so.
