I really think she should go back to Gavin Hopper, Mark P.'s knee is out and doesnt look like its going to get any better. That year (2000) she only lost to 4 players(Venus, Davenport, Hingis, Pierce), 2 of whom are out of the picture (Hingis, Pierce). So if Monica can play like that again, she'll have a great year.

She was with Hopper around 1998, right? I remember he was with Coetzer during her best run. *sigh*

Monica should hook up w/Harold Solomon...he is a taskmaster and will whip Monica into shape. If Juan Nunez still coaches, I think he could help Monica as well.
However, my main choice is not well-known, but very credible. His name is John Hammill, but he coached the University of Miami to a shitload of championships, and is one of the most respected coaches of all time. He was the head of my club for three years, and I had the privilege of being taught by him quite extensively. His emphasis is not to change someone's game, but to build on what they have. He would keep Monica's classic groundstrokes, but would try to incorporate a bit more variety into them. He would keep Monica's angles, but work on her fitness to get her into better position to hit the ball. The main thing would be he would have Monica hitting serves until her shoulder fell off. Monica's serve is a bit up and down and he would not allow that for a minute!

I agree with Solomon, but he has his hands full with Anna. Monica said that she wanted BJK to coach her once, wouldn't that be something! I just think she needs someone who can help with her serve, variety and fitness, maybe she should do something with Rick Massi, he did the williams' serve
