Unless it has gone up this year it is exactly zero pounds and zero pence. Quite a bargain really. But make sure you go the right place. The qualifying does not take place in Wimbledon proper. It takes place in Roehampton.

If you have never been there prepare to be shocked. This being a Grand Slam facility

Just imagine a random field where they have painted some courts on the grass. Epic.

So it's at the NTC, or...? I really should have found this out earlier.

It's played at the Bank Of England Sports Ground :)
Which is behind the NTC.

Yeah, as far as I know the situation is far from good at Roehampton :( Most of the girls dream to qualify so they get to play at the real Wimby grounds!

So there are no tube or train stations anywhere near? :help:

Bank of England Club on Priory Lane.

I think it's fun to go and see. Very low-key, casual and relaxed.

There's a licensed cafeteria and vending machines, so you won't starve. There's kind of a grassy bank alongside the top courts where people sit and watch, and a few plastic chairs dotted around.

I remember walking for about 20-25 minutes from the train station in a pretty deserted area...but nice walk, full of nature and all

There is a train station in Barnes. That is the nearest. Unfortunately even the buses aren't that near. I go to Hammersmith tube station and then I take a 33 bus. But it is a good 15 to 20 minute walk from the station. Maybe even 25 minutes actually.

True, as walks go it is a pretty pleasant quiet peaceful walk. Would be nicer though if it was 10 minutes and not 20.

It's next to the tennis centre, so the directions here (http://www.lta.org.uk/articles/About-Us/Contact-Us/) are useful.

It's very open. I usually forget to take suncream, and there's nowhere to buy it nearby.

I will, i'll write reports on my whole grasscourt adventure! :worship:

Thanks everyone, I have found a map and it seems like a pretty straightforward walk anyway. And thanks a lot for the offer Chris but it's okay, we will be coming from completely different directions anyway. :)

No, she just moonballs EVERYTHING.

That's how she got her first WTA MD victory in Barcelona a few years ago driving Loit mad :haha:

BTW, she won that WC after winning the Spanish National Championships surprising MJMS & Parra Santonja :tape:

By the way, Edina walked right past me yesterday and I was too shy to say anything. :tape: If I see her again tomorrow i'll try to get a pic with her.

OMG I think I will love her :inlove: I thought i'd dislike moonballers, but I fell in love with Klaffner last year. :sobbing: She moonballs EVERYTHING on clay, it's so great to watch, she just fights for every point. :sobbing: I'm ashamed, but I was supporting her by the end of her match vs Mikadze.

:spit: They must have been surprised. Can't wait to see her :bounce:

:haha: No point being shy, we as fans are the people ultimately funding their careers. The worst she can do is politely decline your perfectly reasonable request - and then you can just come here and bitch about what a cow she is  (Im sure she isnt btw)

Excited for this report!

It wasn't even that. I said it in my thread, it was just an odd adjustment from being at Wimbledon where the players are all guarded and you pretty much get a palm in your face if you try to talk to them, compared with at Eastbourne where everything is so intimate and they all just walk among you. I don't think i'll be shy tomorrow though.

Yeh can totally understand why you might be slightly taken aback!

Dont think Ive ever been this excited for Wimbledon from a British point of view so hopefully that will be reflected in your findings! Enjoy :)
