Laura is not quite there yet but it will be not long before she demolishes opponents like Dominika.

I like Robson's game. She already has a good forehand and a really good serve. Her backhand is going to get better.
However, I don't feel like she is a huge "fighter" like Sharapova or Williams for exemple. I don't think it is necessarily a bad thing, she seems to enjoy what she's doing though.

I think that Laura can become really good. I'm surprised when I see some people who says that maybe at some point of her career she will reach top 30.

This. I really expected Laura to win this one. She's still young, but in time she's going to have to start winning these kind of matches. Domi is awful on grass. :o I'm still a huge fan and believer in her talent though :p Good luck at Wimbledon. :)

Well done Domi! :yeah:

if laura had made a few more returns on serve then it would have been closer laura made too many mistakes on return of serve she will learn from this

Bad loss for Laura. Dominika is terrible on grass, and it's Laura's best surface. I don't think Domi had any grass wins until last year. Laura should've really won this one.

Wonder if Laura was only playing this to keep her management happy. Her heart was certainly not in it today, not at all.

In that case, that is a really stupid move. Dominika is not a good grass court player at all, and a MD win would mean big things for her ranking.

This is a massive time of year for Brits; Laura will no doubt want to keep in the managements good books but she can hardly be blamed if she was distracted / not used to dealing with the pre-Wimbledon anticipation that affects all the Brits.

Not saying it for sure, but Laura was at about 60% max today. That said, Domi did great and didnt look like a total grass hater like people suggested. Perhaps the dent to her rank that came after the French has motivated her to adjust to playing well on the grass.

Really poor performance from Laura. Domi, god bless her, sucks on grass and relied heavily on an inept return of serve and lazy groundstrokes from Robson. I also think the tactics of continually trying to go in behind Domi really didn't work as she gets done on grass with the movement and bounce that makes her groundstrokes more inconsistent. Just a bad job all round.

I wonder if Robson will come to Wimbledon dressed as a "hoe" or a high class call girl ?

My bet, a tennis "hobo"; white of course !

I'll get over what she said, eventually...

Your right about those 16 year old antics ! Geez, if they dug into my past, I would be defending: "Officer, I swear she was 16"; or, "Officer, I found this "half opened" bottle of 'The Captain' on the road and was bringing it home for my dad"; I swear !!!...

Oh, that is sad news. I hope she has a strong sense of self and it works out for her.

As for Laura, I don't get why people are making so many excuses for her. She didn't play well. She lost. Dominika won. In that match, Dominika was better.

I think Laura can become very good one day. Her body is growing and she's going to have to adapt to a new physique over time, so she better not get too good too soon (Maria Sharapova, anyone?). But we know the big serve-big forehand combo works well. It was golden for Ana before both shots deserted her (with her backhand getting even worse, to boot).

Sam is proving right now that in today's WTA, having a serve as a major weapon can be very effective, especially because most girls don't know what the fuck to do with their serves. It might not be a bad thing if Laura takes a while to develop.
