How refreshing is Riske?

Pretty nice to see a down to earth player looking at her coach eyes when talking to her. Fed up of all these players trying to be so cool making no eye-contact when they request their service on court :weirdo:

Except for her FH (It's kind of Kleybanova... but worse), I think she has a pretty nice game. She should do well on grass in the future if she avoids injury.

It's so random, she came out of nowhere. It would be great for her to keep this up and not be a one-tournament-wonder.

Oudin was beating Dementieva, Sharapova, Petrova at the USO. Jankovic at Wimbledon.
This is at a mickey mouse with tons of rain delays during the week.

Plays a fairly generic game as expected, but at least she's confident enough to play a formulaic game with no great expectations (unlike Cirstea, Oudin etc).

Kinda like the quirk in her forehand, and she does actually make good solid contact generally. Very unorthodox/clumsy follow-through though, where it appears that she's about to fall over, and has to contort her body over to her left to make room for the ball.

Impressed with her second serve though. Was hitting the service box deep and with plenty of margin.

Does it matter if I hate her or not? Her grunt is still HORRIBLE as you would say. You can't use that as a reason for disliking Riske and then go and support Wickmayer. :shrug:
