Jankovic is such a dummy on grass, I mean she could have at least made the quarterfinals of wimbledon twice.

In 2005, she fought back from 0-6 4-5 0-40 down 3 MP's to myskina to get to 0-6 7-5 5-1 and then lost 8-10, ugh

In 2006, beating Wimbledon champ VENUS and then losing to myskina in the 4th rd

In 2007, lost to Bartoli after being up 6-3 and a break up

In 2008, lost to tanasugarn of ALL people, yeah it's tammy's best surface but JJ was a top 3 player

In 2009, lost to Melanie Oudin in 3rd rd and could have faced Radwanska next :spit:

by grass...do you mean weed? If so...then yes...she has achieved more in her tennis career than a loaf of bread on grass! She made a pretty good showing for herself against the serena williams in the us open final. Her career is just fine :)

A loaf of bread has achieved more but it seriously lacks in the glam and make up factor, so jelena wins

Err...Jankovic did win Birmingham in 2007 and I couldn't find any titles at all for the loaf of bread. Ok Birmingham isn't much, but it's still more than I could find for the loaf of bread, and I did wiki "bread loaf" to be absolutely sure I wasn't missing any titles it might have won. So yeah, Jankovic hardly runs away with it but I still have to give her the nod. Of course this could all be reevalutated in a few years. Perhaps the loaf of bread will win Wimbledon this year.

It's from the Do you think Elena Dementieva passed her peak and will never win a slam? thread, which is what this thread is mocking.

Not true. Jelena won because she was promising kisses all over.

A loaf of bread may not have achieved as much as JJ but atleast its prettier with the brown paper bag wrapped around it .

^^ :spit:

It's the inner beauty that counts. Loaf may have the brown paper bag, but inside it's beginning to mould. Meanwhile, JJ stays young and vibrant and will continue to rack up those grasscourt titles.

Chasing this on Google led me to a Wikipedia page titled "MADtv recurring characters". I browsed through that, and if I hadn't actually seen a half dozen or so episodes of MADtv a few years back, I'd have thought it was the funniest show ever.

Americans just can't get the timing of sketch comedy right.

The loaf of bread has been really consistent. She uses her slices of bread really effectively. I can't imagine anyone beating her if she's playing well in 2010.

a loaf of bread? that's a little harsh, isn't it? also, she hasn't had the best of luck at wimbledon: that year when they put her on court 18 (18!) against tanasugarn was just no way to treat a top seed (i forget her ranking at the time).

In 2006, beating Wimbledon champ VENUS.

JJ has a doubles grand slam title on grass! And has beaten Venus on grass. But she obviously doesn't care about grass, which is why she never bothers to up her game that little bit to close out more matches.

And that match against Tanasugarn, she was injured, and was playing on court #401. She had to take a helicopter to get there and was jet lagged.

Bread-GOAT

You mean loaf of bread hasn't passed it's 'best before date' yet ;)

Jun 9th, 2010, 09:57 PM
she did win mixed doubles in wimbledon, and a singles title in Birmingham, beating Sharapova... and she did beat venus on grass... so i guess she can find her ways on that surface, although it is not her favorite by a long margine... hope she'll do better this year, no expectations, and an improved serve...
