You had said something about wishing you could develop shoulder muscles like Sam’s, and I responded with a warning I would start perving on you if you did! :oh:

Most males, straight or gay, would want shoulder muscles like Sam's. ;)

It’s good to know I’m not alone here. Here’s to homos! :drink:

I suspected that you and I might be in the same club, but as I hadn’t actually noticed any of the Cher references or disrobed Andy Murray pics you speak of, I confess that I thought you were a gay woman. Oops! :help:

The funny thing is that last night I deleted a post of mine on the ‘Sammy Pics’ thread, as I feared that I might have been too flirty with you and might make you uncomfortable. You had said something about wishing you could develop shoulder muscles like Sam’s, and I responded with a warning I would start perving on you if you did! :oh:

If I can perv on Sam's shoulders, but not sleep with women, you can perv on mine all you want!

You might find my forest of chest hair a little bit off-putting, however :p

I don’t blame you guys. Possessing shoulders of such astonishing beauty would render you completely irresistible.:couple:

Thanks for the greenlight! There’s nothing like a bit of perving between a gay man and a gay woman. :lick:

As a straight male I can confirm this. As a straight male I also find those shoulders on Sam very sexy. To avoid incriminating myself any further that's all I'm going to say on this topic

Um…slack? Sam has set some unfeasibly high standards there, so please don't beat yourself up for having smaller :armed: than Sam's.

Don't you just love the little detail that Sam is a tad smaller. ;) I just knew it was Sabine who corrupted Sam's taste in music. Remember Lady Gaga?

I had no idea there were two groups. Sammy fans should stick together! Can't we all just get along?

Anyway, I went here (found this at the beginning of the thread): https://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=131900393493177&ref=ts. The administrator accepted my request pretty quickly but it doesn't look like there's been any activity for several months.

Just wanted to pop in and introduce myself in a friendly place. I’ve been a regular reader for a couple of years now but thought it was time to get involved.
I’ve been following Sam’s career since seeing her at the Gold Coast tournament in 2004. I was impressed by her fitness and the power in her game for such a young woman. It’s been great to watch her development since then.
Apart from Sam I have no other particular favourites but I like to keep an eye on the other Aussie girls. My tennis bug bear (like many) is grunting and screeching but I’m happy to watch any match which is played quietly.

Welcome Sianta.

Speaking of grunting - I was playing last night and there was a Sharapova wannabe on the next court. I mean FFS, it's bad enough listening to it when you're a spectator, but right there on the next court when you're trying to play. I mean really, if she just HAD to copy Masha why not try hitting some decent, hard, flat groundstrokes instead of screaming her face off while hitting short moonballs? Stupid bitch.

Anyway, I'm Kale, I'm 23 and I was born in Ballarat, VIC which is about 100km away from Melbourne (close enough so that I can go to the AO every year ) but since 2007 I spend most of my time in Canberra where I'm studying at Uni. I'm in my last year of postgrad where I will graduate with a Master of Pharmacy and GradDip of Diagnostic Pathology (I also have a Medical Science undergrad degree too :oh:). Not long till I am a qualified (hopefully hospital) Pharmacist

I have been a fan of Sam since she first started - I remember rooting so hard for her in the 2005 Gold Coast final against Patty Schnyder when we were on holidays in Warrnambool, I think I actually turn down the beach to watch her play :oh:

Since the retirement of my other major favs Martina Hingis and Alicia Molik, Sammy has been my No.1 favourite player :D and I love her to bits!

 I know what you mean. I wonder too sometimes how women's tennis came to be adopted as part of gay culture (anyone know the story behind this?).

In any case I wouldn't worry about it too much. I mean, as straight male WTA fans we maybe haven't yet reached the stage where we're fully accepted, but most people are pretty tolerant around here ;)

Hi there to all Sammy Fans. I have been a big follower of Sammy since first watching her at the OZ Open in 2005. Watch way too many of her matches (depriving me of far too much sleep) but love seeing an Aussie who plays with all heart win or lose. Welcome Adomoose! It's actually a bit humbling to welcome such a long-standing fan of Sam, since I only caught the bug relatively recently myself (2009). Hi everyone! I'm Johanneke and I’ve been reading some of the threads on the forum for a couple of weeks now so I thought it was time to introduce myself. I had planned to go to the Unicef Open today to see Sam play and take some pictures (since photography is one of my hobbies) but cancelled it after I saw her lose against Flipkens in the first round.. After reading some of the posts/threads here, now I know you can never really assume Sam will get through the first round (no matter who she plays) haha. So I'm pretty bummed right now I didn't go to the UO last monday. But well, better luck next time I guess..

Hi everyone! Another new member here. I've been a fan of Sam ever since I saw her play at Amelia Island (against Operandi, I think), when they used to have the Bausch and Lomb Tournament there. I was impressed with her quiet, classy tennis and her sportsmanship. Funny - I was a huge Mauresmo fan at the time, but I remember thinking 'here's a player that I will always cheer for' and 'why has she stopped playing doubles with Raymond...' After the match, standing near the entrance to the court, I thanked her for playing a great game. She looked at me as she walked past, smiled a little smirky, shy smile, and said "Thank you" in that adorable accent. Not at all snobby or pretentious, just super cool.

So after lurking on a off for a few years, I figured it was time to join. I am so totally impressed with how you guys maintain respect for one another here (the GM forum intimidates the hell out of me), and I hope I can occasionally add to the discussion.

Side note: Bertrand, your videos are gorgeous - I've been a subscriber on your YouTube channel for a while! Love them!

Welcome to Sinclair, Jo and Aussie_Fanatic :wavey:

There seem to be a lot of new posters around lately. I choose to interpret this as a cosmic sign that Sammy will be unstoppable at Wimbledon :hearts:

ps. sorry if my english sucks, but I'm not used to speak english so I'm trying my best

Your English is perfect

Yeah, GM can be pretty rough at times. But you do develop more of a resistance to it once you're used to reading the forum.

Aww, thanks so much for the warm welcome, y'all!

I also noticed that alot of new people were joining, so I jumped on the bandwagon. Like I mentioned before, I've been following this forum for what seems like ages. The more, the merrier, perhaps. :)

But hey, I gotta admit - most of the time, someone here will post exactly the things that are going on in my head, so I've been content to leave it alone. Until now, of course. I actually got nervous when I saw that Sam is the #5 seed at Wimbledon. It was like instant anxiety....so I know I must be a true fan when I'm feeling pressured and nervous for her!

Thanks again to the Smash 'em Family for the welcome.

Hi all, I'm a newbie too :) This has to be one of the best threads ever in the entire forum. You guys are so nice and friendly.. would love to be part of the family ;)

But well, better luck next time I guess..

ps. sorry if my english sucks, but I'm not used to speak english so I'm trying my best:p
