For me...

MJMS
Schiavone

Rezai

Henin

But anyway you cut it, it was a remarkable claycourt season, without question the most surprising, inspiring and entertaining I think I can ever recall, at that's going back around 30 years.

Mariajo played some magnificently entertaining tennis and she reminded me of everything it is I love about tennis. In fact Mariajo's tennis in Rome could very well have been the most entertaining women's tennis I have ever watched. Yeah I loved it that much.

As for Francesca, she was the ultimate example of a player seizing their opportunity with amazing courage and confidence. To play one's greatest tennis in one's 1st ever Grand Slam final at 29 years old is truely a remarkable feat. Fran won not just a huge title on Saturday but I think she won a huge amount of respect from all around the world and a lot of new admirers. And she deserved it all.

Rezai's win was less to my taste, but no less impressive or remarkable, for those who like one strike tennis it really didn't get much better than what Rezai produced in Madrid.

Finally as for Justine, yeah, she played some great tennis in Stuttgart. But we have all seen her play this well before so the amazement factor wasn't nearly as strong as in the other wins. And the title wasn't as big either. So Justine has to rank a low 4th for me.

yea...
for years and years we have mindless ball bashers bashing and bashing or pushers getting the titles...

this year...
it just shows that...
you can add another dimension to win a big tournament...

a dimension that was thought to be lost...
Serve and volley on clay???
who'd have thought that its this easy...

*hear me Vee*...

and those forehand from Sam...
and Rezai ballbashing consitency...!!!

GOATtennis i say!!!

Easily Fran. Performed a great tactital match in her firsdt Slam final, and had a good time without any fear whatsoever to cap it off. Also peaked at the most important time in the match.

Franny easily.

While everyone said Stosur had this in the bag, Franny had something different planned.
