The quality is better than the crap we've had in recent years, comparatively speaking.

All of you who decided to skip this are missing (at least on a better match than in the lats what 7-8 years)

I thought the Australian Open final was pretty good. And the 2008 US Open final was high quality. But yeah this is the best French Open final in a decade  .

Not a great match by any means but shiteloads better than the tripe we've been served up over the last few years.

Yeah, its pretty good so far. Since i started watching tennis, the Kim-Jennifer final in 2001, is the best by far at the french.

No, not great, but at least I'm not groaning and rolling my eyes at the quality like I do every year...

It's because the two players are on an equal footing. Previously , there was one player vastly better than the other in all of them or there were Safina or Dementieva on the other end.

It's just that everyone assumed, "Oh noes... Stosur vs. Schiavone what a shite final that's going to be..."

Much better than seeing Henin beat up on her lesser beings, true.

I think it is too soon to say
Fran's play has leveled off and Stosur has found her range.
It could be a runaway in the 2nd set.

best final since the capriati-clijsters classic

We're about to have two 3-Set finals in a row from having none for so long.

Since I started watching tennis (not so long ago) this is probably the best Slam final. I also liked JJ-Serena at USO, I'm not a big fan of Henin-Serena this year.

Because most of the good matches were played in the Semi and QTR

It's really shocking. I fully expected Fran to be a nervous wreck and to get steam rolled. I mean it took her forever to win her first title and now she is playing great and could win her first slam. CRAZY!

How's you figure that out ?

Neither of these players are Justine Henin in her claycourt peak, but as far as a contest and match this is far more watchable. You can just feel the tension on the court and the quality has been relatively good so far.

People who missed this deliberately deserve to miss it.

Well, stosur definetly came down to earth. So close to winning a slam definetly put a lot of pressure on her. Thats what´s actually made this a match. Curious to see how this will turn out though... I really hope for stosur she finds her game. :o

When Caro played Fran i said nerves was going into her legs, today Sam can't move...

If "best" means good play on bps, hitting ues this is the best... :o

Beats all the dominatrixes that are most recent slam finals.
