View Full Version : You think Henin-Sharapova match will be played today?

At the moment, it's the Joker's match and don't see it completing in an hour or two's time. Then there's Nadal and Hewitt - which would take at least 1 1/2 hours. And not forgetting the possibility of rain later.

By the time Henin and Sharapova goes to court, it'll be about 7pm the earliest....

I think maybe they'll play the first set?

Move it to SL ?

They should move it and play it today.
The organizers like these late dark matches because its primetime tv, but they need to start this by 7:30

Yeah and the most frustrating thing right now is that Novak was up a break that set and lost it.

Organizers should at least invest in some lights.

if it's played today, it will be on another court.

A roof is coming. But for now, the Monfils match stopping, Rezai match stopping,
they want that primetime entertainment

We just need MORE LIGHTS.

We just need MORE LIGHTS.

Agreed. Or at least a roof. It seems that Roland Garros has these problems more than any other slam..even Wimbledon before they built the roof.

What's annoying is Henin/Sharapova last on Philippe Chatrier, Jankovic/Bondarenko last on Suzanne Lenglen, Pivovarova/Stosur last on Court 1... The 3 best matches of the day all last on court behind two men's matches. The same thing happened yesterday.

In NY it blows because I get up at 5 am to watch the women's match that is always first on, then I'm stuck watching men's for a good 6 hours before any women's is on again. Then, when they finally come on, ESPN2 shows repeat of the men's matches or it gets too dark

After Monfils and Rezai you'd think they'd learn...

I don't like either player but organisation-wise it'd be terrible if RG had to suspend a Philippe Chatrier match for the third day in a row mid-match.

The worst thing about playing this late is that Eurosport won't cover the match completely since they always show "Game Set & Mats" exactly at 20:30.

But rain doesn't affect RG as much as Wimbledon or the US Open. I think they can get away without a roof due to the nature of the surface, but getting big ass lights on at least Center Court, SL, Courts 1 and 2 would mean they could play til 11pm or so, giving us an extra 2 hours of dry play.

And considering their idiotic scheduling since Day 1, the match will probably have to be completed in 2 days because they're gonna put them last tomorrow as well. :weirdo:

If Nole wins in 4 and Nadal wins in 3, this match should start by 18:30

According to RG organizers, I think, it's nor possible so that's why they want to move it or a part of the reason to move it.

I think lights will be good.

Nadal won't beat Hewitt in 1h30 as much as I want to that's not gonna happen Djoko shoud close it out in 4 sets and finish by 5PM here then Nadal will probabably win in 2hrs so I think the match will start at 7PM here.

The way it works in the US is tennis channel shows live tennis from 5 AM--noon, so we see the bulk of the matches. Yesterday I watched Venus, Henin, Serena, Federer, Nadal all live... Then when they switched to ESPN2 they showed Murray live, and then they replayed parts of the Venus, Henin, Federer and Nadal matches :weirdo:. Meanwhile, matches like Li/Schiavone, Kuznetsova/Kirilenko, Petrova/Rezai were all going deep into the 3rd set, and they couldn't even cut away because everything they were showing was tape delayed :smash:

Sure, Li/Kirilenko/Petrova aren't main stream players, but they could at least have shown the end of their matches.. Instead we're watching replays

2 days ES has not shown Game-set and Mats at 20:30 but continue with Live tennis, if a match is suspended (ex Henin-Maria today) its on tomorrow as second match.

It has started raining here. Paris might get some rain as well.

Well they've been playing until as late as they can do this past week and unless Maria is really inspired the match might be over by 9.
Djokovic is so bloody slow:rolleyes:

Nole got broken in the fourth set so this might as well go to five now. I hate you so much Nole. :wavey:

This is so typical.

The match we all want to see, is being further delayed by men who cant seem to capitalise on a lead.

I've only just looked at the OOP and have now realised that RG are seriously stupid. If they put them on at 7:30 there not going to get this match finished, they can't have thought this through.
