I don't see the name of the young Serbien player, whom according to the residential TF 'experts' 'tanked' a match in the MD in Warsaw, so she could be well rested for Q in the FO.

She realised that Wozzie would dominate the tour for the next 26 years so she decided to give up on tennis since no other player would be able to win a single title during that time. All will be Caro's. :hearts:
You can't blame you, can you?

Come on, this is not about Caro.... But there was a match in MD in Warsaw where a Serbien youngster (who'd made a total of like $38k prize money YTD) 'tanked' a match, so she could be well rested and blah blah for quali for FO... and by the TF 'experts' it was OBVIOUS how this was the case .. Now this player is not even out of quali... Hmmmmm ...

Lets see. Chance to make some money in Warsaw Vs chance to take a discount airline to Paris and play a few games for nothing ... Right. 'Experts' ...

Ok, just kidding.
I saw Bojana Jovanovski (that's her name) play only twice so I don't know much about her game and potential, but I suppose she did tank the match in Warsaw in terms that she didn't even fight (not that she lost on purpose). She was playing Errani, so I don't think she stood much chance to win it anyway and wanted to try her luck in the RG Q-draw.

I do believe that Bojana tanked her Warsaw match. I also believe that she got outplayed in FO qualies. She had a very tough section of the draw.

Roger that. So she just basically lost and the fans called it a 'tank'... That makes much more sense :)

Happy with this. Halep will win many matches in slams, where as Scheepers??? this could be her one chance to win a MD slam match. I'm glad she got the easy one.

Upset? Not at all. As you rightly said and I agree, she would have lost anyway .. I just find it amusing in the original MD Warsaw thread how the residential 'know it all' members knew exactly what had happened and why. Out in the real world, away from being a TF keyboard warrier, a girl who makes scraps in prize money doesn't have the luxury of tanking anything. Let alone finally being in the MD in a Premier event. Unless of course she has a sugar daddy like Ms Ivanovic had. If thats the case here too, I stand corrected. If not, real world = real money.

You should start worrying with Molik, and then, increase the hysteria with every next match. There might not be too many of those so there's a chance to save your sanity and overall health.

Maybe JJ needs to pull a 2008AO-Paszek-ish comeback in order to get into a GS QF/SF (Beating Serena in straight set but losing to Maria :o)

Gosh, you sound like goldenlox's double.

It's not all about money, you know? At 19 years old she is probably still living at home in addition to being financially helped by the Serbian Tennis Association. As I said in the other thread, she's a talented* young player who is moving up the rankings steadily. She has had some good wins recently and regardless of whether or not she was going to win the Warsaw match, it's likely she probably believed that she had a good chance of both winning in Warsaw and qualifying for her first slam and therefore she made a choice between playing in one of the greatest sports events on the planet and playing in one of the worst tennis tournaments on the planet. Go figure.
Blasphemy.
As we established a couple of years ago there are no very good young players at all.
Oh my! What a huge fail on my part. I will do my best not to litter my posts with such bullshit in the future, thanks for correcting me.

And I'm happy but also unhappy with these placings. I kinda like Ksenia, so I'm pretty amped to be able to watch her play against Masha, but I was hoping Nastya would draw a big name player so that I could watch her. Also pretty sad for Heidi to have drawn such an in form player.
