Seriously, organization is great. :D There is centre court and two additional show courts. However court 2 is not used because there is a big hole inside. So matches were resheduled to one of training courts. Supposing there were four training courts, two of them were occupied by matches. Court 6 was full of water as well so there was only one court for players today. Of course I don't have to add Warsaw is the slowest clay of WTA - so slushy. Players struggled with bad bounces - sometimes even with returning an opponent's serve. They had to fix all those roughnesses with their own shoes.

I can say that at the beginning of the first day there were no bodyguards in front of players' area so I took the chance, entered and stalked the players. :spit: Just at afternoon some guy asked me: "Do you have an ID?" Unfortunately the draw ceremony was in this exclusive area so I couldn't enter today. :hysteric:

Yes! Photo didn't seize them. :)
There was even a serve speed meter. One girl served 196 km/h ( She hit some 180+ serves)
It was unranked 16 year-old Agata Barańska

Good for her :) Since we're talking Warsaw here... Any polishe girls with potential there except for Linette? Nalborska won a set too... And why did Kania lose so badly?

Caipirinha Guy
May 16th, 2010, 11:49 PM
Kania was very nervous. Furthermore the court was too slow for her. She could handle the rally with Magda. The only game she won was when she could dictate the point. On such clay she couldn't. :( Nalborska is a very defensive and anemic player. She plays smartly, she "saves" the ball - no power from her. Every girl with some more pace than Mijacika shouldn't have problems with her.

Very strong strokes from both strikes but most often they were out. :spit: But that 190+ serve :D
This chick is called Polish Sharapova - now I know why  She screamed as hell and defended like 5 match points but afterall she lost. She's training now in Spain in some tennis academy so if she works on regularity of her strokes, she will get much bettter

I have nothing against Zurich, at the same note every country that has presence in tennis should have opportunity to host at least one event. This is the one in Poland. It is good for tennis. The weather works against this year but long term it will have positive effect.
