Polya lost in QF. :( Just one match from a medal...

Just noticed Polina is playing Reina/Soisbault Cup (18&U Girls' European Team Championships).
Belarus is playing in ZONE A (with Russia, Israel, Greece and Czech Republic). They lost to Russia in the semifinal but beat Greece so they are 3rd. :) Unfortunately only finalists of the zone will compete in European final in Granville. :(

i just found Polina has a thread
i think she might be the coolest chick on tour, seriously! I'll try to post in this thread sometimes, because she deserves fans and attention in this thread for her personality
by the way, that's the interview i made with Polina (in case there's still someone who hasn't read it :p) - probably all the typical stuff one would like to know about an undiscovered player (i just didn't ask "how old you were when playing tennis" :p)
Also, two things more that make me think she's super cute. When I tweeted something to her from my website's account, she replied and we chatted for a bit, and when we met she said very straightforwardly, "I was hoping you'd be a guy" :haha: in the way I was sorry for my gender for the first time ever :haha: I also asked her if she'd like to play tennis with her country's president, like Vika does, and she gave a hilarious and smart answer to it, but it was an off-the-record question anyway
i'm very much afraid of her match against Ana Vrljic. The Croat looks like someone players don't like facing with her tricky game. She even outsliced Barrois in R2.
Zawada seems like Polina's last tournament of the season. Surely ending on a high note, she also got many fans in Poland after great game vs Kris Pliskova (it wasn't Pliskova tanking, Polina simply won it)
Glad to read she's ambitious and wants to try it to a higher level. :yeah: Hope she's having a good training and will break that Top 200 indeed and will be able to play that Slams qualies. :cheer: :hearts:

Thanks, thought last year she wasn't included strange, ths year she has no form and consistent play. So it would be bad for her.
Last year she was not included because she was in Belgium and was not able to came for training week with the rest of the team. So they excluded her even though she won the national play-off. :(

She lost to Stéphanie Dubois in Acapulco Q1 0-6 6-4 5-7  She was leading 5-3* in final set :hysteric: I know Stéphanie is a fighter, but this is such a frustrating loss :crying2:

She played her 1st tournament of the year this week-end. She was given a QWC at 50K Versmold, but sadly fell in Q1 to Anna Klasen, 6-7(6) 2-6.
It's not too bad a scoreline against a decent opponent after such a long lay-off. She needs matches to find her way back.
Wonder why she hasn't played in so long though, must be an injury, just hope she's ok now! :)
She has fallen out of Top 1000 (currently #1170 :sobbing:), about time she went back before losing her ranking! :sobbing:
Edit: In her favour, I just saw that that Klasen that beat her in Q1 thrashed in-form (7)Sofia Blanco in Q2. So that really looks not that bad for a 1st match back I guess. :)

This week she's playing in Shymkent again, just beat fellow countrywoman Sadafmoh Tolibova in R1, 6-4 7-6(6). :bounce:
She's on the verge of falling out of Top 1000, currently #973 :[
Oct 8th, 2014, 08:07 PM
She beat Albina Khabibulina 4 & 3 in R2. :)

Lost 3 & 2.

She made the final in dubs with Lodikova though. They were the 2nd seeds and lost 4 & 4 to top seeks Khabibulina/Klyueva in the final. ;)
