Well, i thought it was a bit punishment to accept the bands after the deadline, with lost players when the match has already began.
The game CYB is to choose your team when the draw is totally empty. When a match has already begun, it can help you to choose your band.
If a strong player is losing, you can choose a player in her part of the draw...

Suicide Tennis is totally different. You have to choose one player per day.
If a match has already began, there is no consequence for the others matchs of the day.
CYB is not like that. All begun matchs have consequences for the draw...

Normally i have not to accept bands when it is to late.
And it was a "gift" since 4 tournaments to accept bands...

But some punished players have criticized this little punishment...
So now i don't accept bands after the deadline... no players will be unhappy in the future.
(and players who could have won a lot of points if their band have been accepted (but with a little punishment) won't be accepted and will win 0 points).

As i said to the others punished players, it's better to have a punished team than to have no team...

Withdrawals

If one of your player withdraws, he is automatically substituted by your Back Up Player !

If you have not chosen a BU player, everyone who had chosen the withdrawing player will have automatically the same new player.
(the new player is the first player in the list AFTER the chosen player : remember in Dubai, all the players who had chosen Maria Kirilenko have had the same new player Magdalena Rybarikova).

So if you want to choose your new player, you have to post a back up player when you send your band !
You're not authorized to send your back up players after you have chosen your band...




1 - The rule is like that... so it is possible that players who haven't chosen a BU for Dulko was ok to receive Cirstea if Dulko withdraws.
It's not written that you have to choose a BU, it's written it's better to choose if you don't want to have a bad new player... So i can’t punish players who have no BU player.

2 - As you said, if you don't choose a BU player, you can have the chance to have a new player who is a winning player (like Cirstea)...
But it’s sure that you have more chance to have a winning player if you choose her...

3 - I'm always open for a modification of the rules when there is a lot of player who ask him or when it's unfair, but i dont think this rule is unfair... Players who decide to choose a BU player are favored, because their new player is not the result of the random...

I register you prefer that the rule change, but what the other players are thinking about it ?

I ask the questions to all the players : do you want that "no BU player" = "0 points" when there is a withdraw ?
The question is asked for the next tournaments, but the rule is written like that for this tournament and no modification will be done for this tournament !

That's a very good question :D
If there are 4 players in the bracket and you have chosen the 4th player in the bracket... and your player withdraws : the bracket will have 3 players only, and you will receive the last player of the bracket (player number 3).


One modification of this rule would be replace the player who has withdrawn with the lucky loser, if there is no time to change your selection before that and if there's no BU player (this way you'd kind of force to have a BU)


To change the withdrawing player by the lucky looser player is really impossible... :rolleyes:
Imagine your player in the first bracket withdraws, and the Lucky looser is in the bracket 4 (or 6 in a gran slam).
You would have no player in the first bracket (which could be a big problem, because the player in the bracket 1 is often the player who wins a lot of points...) and 2 (or 3) players in the last bracket.
You have to choose at least one player per bracket.

The problem is that sometimes withdrawing happens after the beginning of the tournament, and to choose a new player is impossible because you already know some results who can help you to choose your new player.

The best modification is that all players choose BU players !
But the BU rule is new, and players don't think to choose BU players, even if i Advise all players to choose BU players every week since the new rule exists :rolleyes:
That's why I advise all players to choose BU players (because very often you will be forced to have a BU players).


I think the chances of both your first and second player withdrawing are rather slim, but if it happens, it's just some tough luck).

The solution is to choose more than one BU player in a bracket... :D
It's not forbidden to send 3 players in every bracket so that you can have a player if the 2 first withdraw :lol:

What I mean is. If you don't post a backup for Suicide, it's your choice. If your mean pick is a W.O. and you don't have a backup, then you're out! You can do exactly the same with CYB. It's no different in this case.
You can put it like this. You don't have to post a backup, but if there's a withdrawal, you don't get a new player. It's just up to you.
If you're too lazy to post a backup, you shouldn't be lucky in the end.

Well my idea with the replacement of lucky loser was that if your player withdraws and you don't have a BU, you get punished for that...

Or you can just make it a must to have a BU, or you won't accept the band:p
