Kaghat.

Okay Justine is a fighter.
Ok she is great.

BUT PLEASE COULD YOU STOP WITH ALL YOUR JINXING THREADS ?! :sobbing: If I am not wrong, you already made one for Brisbane and/or the AO.

The pressure is NOW officially on.

If she doesn't win RG, she's in big trouble. The "aura" will be gone and she will be sweatin' bullets over the all the eggs she placed into the one Wimby basket.

Who'd have thought that, by this time of the year, Juju would have no titles.

Why is that surprising ?

1. Almost doesn't count.
2. Kim was choking hard and basically giving her the comeback. I love Justine but let's be real here.

She is capable of epic comebacks. This was not going to be one of them, if she did eke out a 3rd set win.

For sure.
The story has merely just begun for Justine. She is a natural fighter. She will get her winning form back.

Ok Kim choked but you can't say that Justine didn't earn that comeback.

Kim always has mental lapses in matches, we need to stop calling them chokes and just start associating them with her game

I think she has lost close matches at the tail end of tournaments when she was very fatigued. Don't forget how much tougher her draws have been and how much more time she was on court. It also takes a while for everything to click... She is still doing better than almost everyone on the tour!

4 Tournaments: 2 finals (1 grand slam final), 1 second round and semifinal beating Dementieva, zvonareva, Wozniacki... Thx! I am satisfied! those who ask for more, are the same who say after: The WTA is a joke!

Ok thanks and everything, but she wouldn't need to "fight" so hard if she went back to her natural game

I loved the old Justine. The new game plan, not so much.

Yeah, she's a fighter. But conversely, why does she keep putting herself in these positions where she has to fight back? really she makes it so hard on herself sometimes and its so frustrating.

Kim choked in this match, yet got away with it.

I think she fought amazingly well given her form and what she was up to.

I'm not sure about this. She fought and competed remarkably when she was down alright, but she also lost focus at the most inopportune moments. When you're up 2-0 in the third with all the momentum behind you, and with your opponent rueing her wasted lead in the second, and you're serving to consolidate the break, you don't throw in a thoughtless service game and get broken to love. You fight for that service game, you grind, and you send that message: Babe, you missed the boat in the second set.

And you slam the door shut.

(Of course, this is something Kim should have done in the second set too.)

Henin was never in control of the match in the first place. The match was always on Kim's racquet and the question was how badly will she choke? Can she recover?

From start to end, Henin's form was shaky, her strategy more than questionable, her play extremely subpar. Justine fought as much as she could with the form she had.. Kim was too good in the end.
If Justine wants to win next time, she can't rely on Kim giving it to her on a silver platter. She'll have to play better

More like kim is such a choker :o The only reason both of their matches this year were three setters wasbecause kim choked in both second sets:o:o henin is a fighter for sure but kim's choke had more to do with the result.

Kims always beaten Justine when it doesnt matter... This is like the only semi "big" tourny where it has mattered and she pulled out the W(This and that French Open semi she won before losing to Capriati....
