I dunno how much my strokes are like hers but I think I'm much like Safina. I get too emotional when I play bad. I put too much pressure on myself. When I get the slightest notion I'm play well, all my game starts to crumble. I slam my racquet. I cuss. I hit errors 10 feet out. I double fault games away. I scream to my invisble coach and then fall to my knees and shout to the gods, "Why am I afraid to win?!"

I will go with Ivanovic with an even more non-existent backhand. Good forehand, good first serve.

moby

I'm terrible now.

I don't hit my groundstrokes like any pro player. My technique is beyond unorthodox. I slice 95% of my backhands, even back when I had a two-hander. Occasionally I hit a topspin one to rather unpredictable results. On the forehand, I try to be aggressive with it (and used to be fairly successful) and I can occasionally baseball bash it very flat. These days I'm happy to keep it in with topspin.

I'm rather slow, but my defence is not too bad. I read the game decently. I have very good court positioning and good racket work. My footwork is rather fancy (when I'm not lazy). My net game is negligible. I junkball to get the best opportunity for my ex-uberforehands. I like to dropshot-lob. I used to have a pretty good serve. When I'm losing, I push (quite well).

P.S. Oh god... I think I play like Ivanovic.

I would relate my game to Dementieva I guess. Forehand is my prime shot and I have a weak serve.I go to the net to return drop shots only.I like offensive baseline game but I'm pretty fast on court so I think it helps me when I'm on the defensive too. :)

I would say a mix of Sharapova/Dementieva/Kleybanova.

Always going for the corners/opening up the court, serve is horrible and since I admire my shots for way to long, I have to run like Usain Bolt and ends up hiting in the most akward positions ever but it's still quite good.

And I'm can lose to a red fish 0-6 0-6 but can beat the best player 6-0 6-0 as well. Serious headcase.

I really love play serve & volley. :) Actually I play a lot on net. I don't like play from baseline. So, I can be Maria Jose Martinez Sanchez (if we talk about women players). :p But she is left handed and I'm right handed. ;) I also use a lot slice and drop shots. It's so cool. But when a have bad day I just hit a ball as hard is possible but then probabbly all balls go in out or in net. So, I really can't tell to which player relate my game - I'm unique, probably. :p

Venus is my tennis inspiration so of course I copy her as much as I can. I have a big serve when it works, I have a huge forehand and it is my signature shot, I can make some impressive volleys and then I can make some horrid volleys. I am very fast but too often I admire my shots and mess up a point that should have been mine. My backhand is a one hander and I can also generate some good pace on it. My problem with my back hand is that I am late too often or caught in no mans land but when I am swinging freely from both wings it is very impressive. I also love it when a person drop shots me and I chase it down for a winner.

I love hitting the ball hard but my coach has really helped me to add more variety to my game. I still have a problem with patience but I guess you could say that my back hand is like Henin and my forehand is more like Venus, so are my volleys, court coverage and court position. I am currently trying to work on my serve where I have more constistent pace like Serena, come to think of it my speed may be closer to Serena's level. Needless to say I am a work in progress but I do love when after a match they guys are like your forehand is a killer, it even surprised me. I guess they forgot about girl power..lol.

Sometimes, it´s like I wish I played like this or that player but I usually end up hitting loads of UEs

My best shot is BH DTL and I play loads of drop shots (at same times as Aga-unexpected :p ) I always go to the net if the ball is short or on any chance. I would say my style is like Justine-agressive but I dont possess any of her shots, nor technique...I wish I did though :)

Potato

My forehand is exactly like Dementieva's, but it goes CC 80% of the time. I rarely get the timing right when I convert it to DTL. But it is my most reliable shot for rallying, and sometimes when I really go for it I can get a pretty good CC angle. When I played in supers, they would always hit to my forehand. My backhand is completely modeled after JJ's, the open and closed stance. I can control a lot of rallies with it. I only come in on a really good shot, I'm scared of the net. :(

My serve is easily the worst part of my game, it's worse the Radwanska's :tears:

I play like JJ except my FH is a stronger shot. I try to get everything back and my serve is :help:. I can only slice it :(

Dunlop1
Apr 1st, 2010, 11:19 PM
My total game isn't like any 1 player.

My backhand is just like Justine's however. I use the same grip (semi western) and I am taller so high balls to my backhand don't even phase me. It is my favourite shot and I can rip it and place it deep or create good angles.
My backhand slice is okay. I can get it deep and low, but not skidding. This is one area that I have to improve.

My forehand is also a good shot. I can't consistently make the angles that I can on the backhand side.

My 1st serve is all about placement. I have a big 1st flat serve but I prefer to mix it up with slice, topspin and great placement. I can place it in all 4 corners and into the body.
My 2nd kick serve needs work though because it doesn't kick up very high and if it does it doesn't go through the court enough so it is attackable.
My slice serve is
I LOVE hitting it on the duece and ad court and just seeing the ball cut to the right after the bounce and my opponent stretch for it, meanwhile I am already in no man's land ready for the swinging volley

As far as my playing style, I am patient and love to engage in rallies and I will not go on the offensive until I have the opening. I work very hard on my fitness and my defense wins me a lot of points.
I have literally drilled for TONS of hours making very good angles when pulled wide and on the run. I love to play defense.

I am very unemotional and you won't hear a single c'mon if I win a point nor will I berate myself if I lose a point.
I only celebrate if I win the match.

I can adjust to all kinds of players, but my kryptonite are players with huge AND well-placed serves.
It is such a struggle with these players and I have to be playing VERY well to win these matches.

I dont know.....these days I ALWAYS try and end the point at the net.

I use angles, slow pace balls, hard balls, down the line, cross court....I play like a weirdo.

SOMETIMES I ball bash and turn out like Li Na. It's a habit I get into in SOME matches.

DragonFlame

ehm..

1.My forehand is Henin like, very little backswing, take the ball on the rise and tendacy to break down under pressure. It's the side that makes the most winners for me. I can vary flat strokes and topspin nicely.
2.My backhand is Wozniacki like, i can handle and generate a lot of pace and prefer hitting crosscourt angles. Opens up the court for me. Don't hit many backhand errors, but don't go for much low-risk shots either, my DTL sucks.
3.My serve is Venus like. Hit a hard flat first serve, decent racket head control and fluid motion on it. second serve sucks compared to first serve, i tend to toss the ball too low making it a forced shot with tense arm(meaning less power)
4.My movement is Serena like, i can cover A LOT of distance, both going sideways and forward when i really go for it. My footwork is sloppy. Needs improvement, i tend to be a little bit lazy with it.
5.My netgame is Radwanska like = have the feel for it, but hardly ever use it well.
6.My slice is Sharapova like = non-existant.
7.My mentality is Safina like, i choke when it matters most, but can come out of tough situations as well. I play better being down then as a front runner.

I think thats a cool discription

I always feel that my backhand is very powerful and almost technically perfect, but then everything else about my game is either inconsistent or just poor. I think if you looked at my backhand in isolation, you'd think I was a very good player. But then if you saw my forehand, or my second serve, or my movement, or the tendency for my slices to turn into accidental dropshots :tape:

Venus, nice aggresive play, serve sometimes breaks down, I hit a few aces here and there. I can do anything with my forehand in any postion but my backhand is decent when I'm not on the run. What's really annoying though is how my opponents always saw it's out when I paint the line.

My game style is very simialr and I guess modelled off the Daveport/Pierce/Sharapova mold.

Im all about flat power shots off both wings. I like to be in control so I pretty much try to hit winners or force errors off every shot. I dont like running around and dont play good defence so I have to be in control. I rarely if ever slice or drop shot or lob its all out power.

My service action is pretty much an exact copy of Mary Pierce as is my forehand. Sometimes I will also do the lasoo forehand if Im late or trying to whip the ball cross court ala Maria.

My Backhand is probably quite similar to Maria's backhand with tha big swing and huge power. My backhand is definitly the more secure shot and rarely brakes down.

I got a solid forehand with quite some top spin, which has gained some consistency lately. A pretty good first serve. No real second serve, although my Kick serve improved slightly. :p But very shaky. No spin on the backhand at all, which is rare for a guy and makes it inconsistent. Shaky volleys, except for the two handed backhand volley at times, and drop shots, but a solid lob. :p I usually try to hit deep and flat out my groundstrokes when needed, while push on the BH, when I don't want to attack. I move alright for a my size, but sometimes I am too close to hit a proper shot. I probably tried to model it a bit around Maria Sharapova's serve and Svetlana Kuznetsova's forehand, if we talk about female only.
But sometimes I turn into a complete pusher, when I go into a match without having practised for some time. :help: I am very calm, too and have never lost my nerves on court.
