Does FSN or CSN have enough coverage (tennis) for me to buy a special sports tier? W/direct tv I have to pay an extra 12 bucks a month for those channels... and they have todays coverage.

I don't think they'll be showing any tennis after this week, so if that's all you want it for, don't bother.

I believe FSN's only tournaments of the year are Indian Wells and Miami, and while they offer decent coverage of the men's matches, I didn't see many women's matches on there, and I wouldn't shell out extra for an add-on package for that. Tennis Channel is a different story. While I get both included in my Dish Network package, I did willingly pay extra for TTC when I had Brighthouse. It was worth it.

FSN's coverage of Indian Wells/Miami has kind of sucked. The Tennis Channel rocks, though...except for Gimelstob. ;)

On Sunday, FSN was supposed to have coverage from 1PM to 6PM. When Justine's match was over, they cut coverage an hour early. I was not able to see my sweet lemon Danish play Kirilenko. They instead showed an infomercial.:fiery: Needless to say, WozLolz was upset...and thinks FSN's coverage is weak.

I've always realized that tennis gets short shrifted in the US but the last 2 weeks have been eye openers. Not only is the coverage supper sucky but if you're a casual fan you have to work so hard just to keep up w/which channel covers a tournament on any given day. This tourny has been covered by 3 cable networks...and then the finals will be on CBS....go figure.

I just don't get y the ATP and WTA allow such shoddy handling of their product.

I don't either, but I guess it says more about the priorities of sports viewers at the moment that ATP/WTA can't negotiate better TV deals.

It's too bad for tennis, I guess, that sports like poker, rodeo, hot dog eating contests, fly fishing, monster truck rallies, dog shows and spelling contests have gotten so popular lately.

I had the opposite experience as the Wozniacki/Kirilenko match went past the coverage window and they stayed with it. However today,in my area the coverage will be on tape delay as the local team plays. If same day coverage is not a problem, it is worth it. Also worth it if you like sports compilation shows and Poker.

Maybe it's just D/TV but fox local, (FSNAZ), is not the same as FSN... my local is dlayed as well but FSN has it live and will for the rest of the week...as does CSN which apparently is Comcast:rolleyes: which I thought was a different provider. But I figured out I can order the sports tier...and they will allow me to cancel at anytime. I was worried I'd have to keep it 4 the entirety of my contract.
