Oh no..say it isn't so. Team Adidas seems to run all their girls into the ground thinking they'll be superfit but they just get injured (ie, Ana, Sorana, now Sabine, etc). Girls' bodies can't take what a guy's body can handle. ESPECIALLY not Hantuchova's frail body.

Oh, i just heard his pep talk to her when she was down 2-3 in the 3rd. He was really positive and said all the right things. i feel for her and i now kind of hope she can pull this off!!

I think her fulltime coach is Eduardo Nicolas.

she is a apart of the Adidas player development program but I think he is a bit sexist. But I loved what he did today, I think the old Hantuchova would have folded but she kept fighting and stayed positive.

Cahill has been great for her this season.
It is interesting how different he is as a coach and as a "personality" on TV or whatever.

I agree. I think he has learned that SHOCKER  women are different than men. :speakles: Who knew?  It's one thing to say demeaning things in a booth and another thing entirely to put down these young women (many of whom are quite nice and personable in personal interactions) down to their faces. Especially when you see how hard they work and how hard they try. I think he's gained some respect for the women's game since he's started working with women. I've believe he's said as much.

Great pair. He hates womens tennis, and she hates her own body.

wish them the best.

The combination sucks..I mean in general. I dislike on-court coaching. All the BS he told her...what was it for? It didnt help a thing and she might have played better without. She should believe she can rely on herself, not on some sh!tty advice from someone who pretends to care.

That shows how low Danielaīs confidence is compared to Venusīs . The best players dont need on-court coaching.

i'm sorry, i love Daniela, but i completely disagree. she has always been uber-talented, but also mentally fragile. she is a player who benefits from on-court coaching, and all the things he was saying to her really helped to calm her down imo. she ended up recovering the break and taking a 4-3 lead.
had he not helped her it is possible, but most unlikely, that she would have believed in herself as much as she did.

I completely disagree on the part about Cahill-Daniela. He gave her the gameplan of hitting down the middle, everytime Daniela has played Venus she goes for DTL winners that takes her out of position, in this match it was different, she4 hit hard down the middle as well as body serves, ALL Cahill's ideas.

This match was a positive, but you cant expect much on clay. When Dani gets on grass, then you'll see if the coaching is helping.
This is going to be a very competitive clay season, whether Dinara is a part of it or not

Daniela has the potential to do well on clay, but her footwork needs to be in good order. She needs a good season and hopefully this match will help her.

I see your point. But what does it give her for the future? She should learn what to do on court when she is on herself. What if she calls the coach two-times during third set, then itīs 6-5 and she wants to call the coach again but canīt. She will be completely lost, not believing in what she is doing because itīs from her own head, not from the coachīs head. Mentally itīs not good for her, she should never feel like..oh I wish the coach was here and told me the right thing to do. She should believe she is doing the right thing.

His advice might have helped her, I only heard what he said the last time he was there and it was nothing special  I dont want her to depend on on-court coaching until the end of her career. Hope she gets the confidence of Venus one day-who believes she can win the match on her own, depending just on herself.
