For me it's:

1. Mauresmo def. Elena for winning Paris - In general I prefer Lena but Amélie really deserved it. :D
2. Hantuchova def. Kuznetsova for winning IW - Well ok, she's a fave but she still deserves it :hearts:.
3. Dokic AO QF run - That was really great :)

Good question and I agree with Mauresmo's victory over Dementieva. The Paris Indoors was my first tournament as a spectator and at the time, I probably preferred Dementieva but seeing how popular Amelie was and seeing her emotions, I was more than happy when she won :D Especially because it was pretty much her final hurrah as well.

Probably Ana's win at RG over Safina. I had liked Ana a little bit, but the whole squeaky shoes thing and excessive come on's were starting to get on my nerves. Still, I respected her for how she went out there with a game plan and dismantled Safina (though to be fair, Safina dismantles herself quite well).

When Venus Williams won Dubai...

Venus was never a big favorite of mine over the years, I always was a die hard Jennifer Capriati lover and maybe that impacted my opinion a bit of the william sisters....but over time especially Venus has shown herself to be very human and on court you coulkd see times when she would fail...not able to come through alot of matches even tho she has every shot in the book and more Weapons in her arsenal than most of the top 10 combined...

Venus Win In Dubai marked to me the first time she had achieved a significant Victory outside Wimbledon in many years and I was really happy for her. She not only deserved her win, it showed just how gratefull she was for it...and to me, showes how much she has grown over the years as a person and player.

The Russian Revolution was in full swing, with Russians holding three of the four slam singles titles.

Amelie def pova Wimbledon 06,pova tried to halt Momo s momentum by taking break and Momo took a potty break right after pova came back...there was some drama during that match.

I remember that. '06 was the year of the bathroom break for Sharapova. Good to see she has stopped with those tactics though.

Miami '06

"But Thursday against Tatiana Golovin — a Frenchwoman ranked 20 places below her in the world standings — the fourth-ranked Sharapova won the first set, 6-3. She then squandered a 5-1 lead and four match points at 5-3 in the second set, at which point she took a bathroom break.

It was a curious time for nature to call, what with the 18-year-old Golovin putting together points as if she were a master craftsman and not a player who is Sharapova's peer in age only. The crowd at Crandon Park, sensing that Sharapova was stooping to gamesmanship, booed as she left the court, and again as she returned.

The fans had reason to be suspicious. In her second-round match against Li Na of China, Sharapova took a bathroom break in the second set after Li jumped to a 4-1 lead. Sharapova returned and reeled off five consecutive games to dispatch Li, 6-2, 6-4.

After Golovin won the second set in a tie breaker, Sharapova again repaired to the restroom. If her plan was to rattle Golovin, it did not work. The two dueled on nearly equal terms in the third and decisive set of their semifinal. Sharapova was serving at deuce, up by 4-3, when Golovin rolled her left ankle while running down one of Sharapova's laser strokes. Golovin whiffed on the shot, then crumpled to the court.

As a trainer attended to Golovin, who was writhing in pain and wiping away tears, Sharapova practiced her serving motion and hit a ball against the padded wall near the baseline. A hush fell over the crowd, which could sense what seemed to escape Sharapova, that Golovin was badly hurt."

Wimbledon '06

"On Monday, both Russians won fourth-round matches, but in very different ways. After losing her first set of the tournament, Sharapova needed a bathroom break to halt Flavia Pennetta's momentum and beat the Italian in three sets, while Dementieva won the last 10 games and easily disposed of American Shenay Perry"

US Open '06

"Sharapova again got signals from the team in her player box to indicate moments when she should eat and drink during the match.

USTA officials said that the earlier infractions — such as father Yuri acting as a puppetmaster with banana and water, and possibly signaling for his daughter to take a bathroom break after losing the second set to Amelie Mauresmo in the semifinal — did not count as coaching."

It was a curious time for nature to call, what with the 18-year-old Golovin putting together points as if she were a master craftsman and not a player who is Sharapova's peer in age only.

And this is off-topic, but Golovin gave me an amazing feeling in that match in Miami someone mentioned before. Had she won, it would have been the top for me for sure, because I didn't like her at all before that.

I see some people are still obsessed with Maria here. Their greatest memories being her bathroom breaks!

And in fact she was FAR from the worst offender in taking breaks. The Golovin match lasted several hours.

Amelie's def. of Justine at Wimbledon, payback for the ruination of her AO win.
Sharapova's def. of Ana Ivanovic at AO 2008; after her beatdown in the final in AO 2007, very nice comeback.
