Just curious on what people think her best surface to win a GS on considering shes an all-around player.

my vote would be AO or RG cant decide between the two

When the Summer Olympic become a 5th GS.
She consider this more important.
Just Justine and Venus consider RG and Wimbledon more important respectively

AO or the USO.

The French Open she has sucked at since 2004. She's not a great clay-courter at the best of times. She was miles better on the stuff circa 2003-2006.

The AO over the past couple of years has really been her best chance IMO. She seems to prepare well over the off-season and looks ready by January.

She has made two Wimbledon semis, but as long as the WS are around they will consistently be better than her on grass and they are the ones who you need to beat at Wimbledon.

As for the USO, I'd still say that's a good tournament for her, despite last year's result. Her 2004 run to the final is the main thing that convinces me that she is Grand Slam-winning material

USO with AO as her 2nd best bet. It's no secret she's at her best on hardcourts. If I recall correctly, she has won or made the final of every important North American outdoor hardcourt event. She's also had her best slam results at the USO (1 final and multiple SFs) with harder draws. When she did well at RG or Wimbledon, her draws were easier.

I know she's obsessed with Paris and RG for some reason  but I don't think she could ever win RG  She's not one of the best clay courters. So far she has won Amelia Island and Istanbul but consistently comes up short at bigger clay events.

She should have beaten Serena last year, I think she has a shot at Wimbledon with the right draw.

At this point, I think it's doubtful that Elena will win a Slam. She would have to get a very good draw, and hope that some of the top seeds lose along the way.

I say Wimbledon. I think she had a shot last year but I agree as long as the Williams are around I don't see her winning it. Maybe the French. To be honest all these non grand slam champions blew all their chances in 08 and 09.

Jankovic should have won the 2008 Roland Garros
Dementieva should have won the 2009 Australian Open and maybe Wimbledon
Azarenka/Dinara should have won the 2009 Roland Garros

They blew it! I only see Azarenka winning one with the Williams and the Belgians playing.

She is done tremendous improvements at Wimbledon, I definitely think that's her best chance.

She would have been ass-kicked by Venus in the final, though.

I dont think she´s gonna win a GS, but if she did, it´d be either AO or USO

I think atm the chance is pretty much the same everywhere. In Australia maybe not. AO 09 was weird. She almost lost the first round, she wasnt close to losing but she played horrendously. The semifinal was same as US 08 semi, just so many chances wasted.

But RG=Wimby=USO. It´s more about her current form, with finals at RG and USO and a SF at Wimbledon which was probably her best late-stage GS performance at all she has proved she can play on all surfaces.

I voted for RG because I want her to win that one

Honestly, she could do damage at RG and the USO. USO is obviously good for her game as she loves hard courts.

Roland Garros, surprisingly enough, doesn't really have anyone at the helm at the moment. Yeah, we all say Justine or Sveta, but Sveta is a headcase and Justine is playing a little non-clay like. Clay isn't her priority and she might sacrifice Roland Garros to get to Wimbledon fresher. With past champions looking lost on the clay, Dinara choking, Sveta probably bound to choke, and Azarenka not really a clay court specialist by any means, it could be Elena's for the taking. Had she just closed out Dina in 2008 in the QF there, she might have gotten it, seeing how Ivanovic is her bitch, and Svetlana wasn't even competitive.

I´d say her chances at all slams are equal right now. Right now she´s losing to the contenders at all of them and hasn´t beaten anyone of signifigance in a slam in a long time... Till she does, she won´t win a slam. Simple as that, she needs to win at least 1 of those matches, probably 2, to win a slam.

I think she's had big chances and blown them every time. I would be amazed if she so much as makes another final

She would have been ass-kicked by Venus in the final, though.

venus was injured and didnt even move against serena. no doubt elena would have beaten venus.

that was to me her most wasted opportunity, losing the match point against serena in the semis with the stupid volley back at serena
