the only three players Aleks defeated this year are: Voskoboeva(#106), Granville(#226) via retirement, and Rybarikova (#44). I bet she has the worst result of top 50. Even Dulgheru can do better than her

Put it this way. Had Hercog played Wozniak here last year, Wozniak would have most likely won 6-2 6-1. A year later and Hercog is the winner. Some of this can be attributed to a bit of a slump from Wozniak but mostly the difference is that Hercog is playing leagues better on hard than she was a year ago. She is one of the fastest improving players on the tour and it will be very interesting to see where she stands at the end of the year.

Great to see Polona produce some nice results. As for Wozniak, at the moment just nothing works for her. She should really focus on clay now and forget her year so far. She always has some good Tournaments in a year (PVB, RG, Eastbourne and Quebéc last year) but she's really useless for the rest. Really hope she gets it together soon.
